Thank you, I've been getting phone calls left and right (as I tried to relax and enjoy a nice bbq yesterday.) This will go on to a bigger place (The Sundance Film Festival.)

It was the element of surprise to everybody in the building. The people did not expect it to be, "That good." and felt it represented us as an area, very well. The regular people in the building stated that the artist represented themselves in a very professional manner.

All the money flashing (knowing damn well it's from your income tax return, not from the rap game.) The bitches & hoes, the drinks and drugs, smoking shit. Trying to prove that your living lavish, gun flashing etc... all that shit that don't matter was not in the film. And that is what everybody who came out loved about it, 100% real.

Skeptics walked in thinking the film would be dated, but they had the promotion mentality & didn't expect a direct story that is still vital today.

I'm glad to see people be inspired by it (from the phone calls, messages & comments sent / given to me.) And it opened up eyes on so many levels to move us all forward as an area.

Nobody in the building expected the climatic tear jerking ending in a Hip Hop documentary, but trust, it fit perfect.

Know that there is only one copy of this film and I hold on to it like George Lucas with a new Star Wars script. No copies for Homies, no let me borrow etc. I really want this to go somewhere big. If it never does, fine, but I'm sure going to try hard.

The film features cameo appearances by, Spice 1, Bugsy, Tito B, Big Oso Loc, Lil Coner, Goldtoes & Marvaless.

well shit, keep us updated. next logical thing...maybe an online viewing of sorts? get your goods out there breh! online would allow more of an audience..or are you waiting until the film festival opportunity? i mean, i'm sure there are others on here besides me that would like to view it that didnt have a chance to slide out in person..doesnt facebook allow such viewings? or maybe a limited time frame on youtube?

I'm not sure on the facebook video etc, but I do know youtube only allows 10 mins. With that said, it's easy to rip and before you know it, the bootleg is out floating the net. Yes, I can't stop it and I understand that, but I think I'll go for film festivals first and then resort to the rest later. I seriously want to give it a good run to try and get it picked up. If it was to make it to some channel on t.v. I know someone would Tvo it from there & burn a disc and it's over, but at least it made it to it's big destination.

I just received this email and yes I am taking it!!!!

From: Megan Heath <[email protected]>
Subject: South County video workshop?
To: "Fred Segura" <[email protected]>
Date: Sunday, April 17, 2011, 3:46 PM

Hi, Fred:

Congratulations on your first screening! I hope you'll have another one.

I was there but left early because I was too tired to wait for the movie to start.

So, now that you finished this, let's plan a music video workshop! I've got two young documentary filmmakers who'd teach and I want to include you somehow, and I'd pay you.

I also want to include Jacob in the planning process too since he knows other young people in Soledad who'd be interested in the workshop.

What do you think? Are you interested?

If so, let's have a planning meeting soon. Let me know when you're available.

Thanks in advance!

Megan

I remember all the struggles that you went through when we would talk about the DVD/Soundtrack. I'm proud of you and I know that this is just a glimpse of what else you have in store for the area. My phone's been acting up lately but I did see that you called me. My touch screen keeps freezing. I'm getting a replacement in the mail in a few days. Keep up the good work because it's been paying off.
