Nick that's exactly what I'm saying....Apple was adamant that NO discounts be given. Actually you HAVE to do a 2 year agreement to get that price lol.
I think it's a good idea though. Just like Apple did with the iPod they made it so that the price was the same across the board. That way people don't have to worry about being ripped off at one place when they could have gotten a better deal somewhere else.
Oh and a sidenote: The iPhone will ONLY BE SOLD at Apple Stores and CORPORATE at&t stores....Meaning don't expect yer buddy who works at the mall kiosk to be able to get u the hookup lol

Im sure IChat will be available some time down the line....as long as I got that Im set......Apple is supposedly going to support the phone with significant updates over the next 2 years and IChat is a must....till then Im sure you can use AIM express??
Another question I was wondering.....it boasts that it supports the real internet so does that mean you can see flash based content on it?

and since the phone will be hard to get, don't plan on the price going down in 6 months....Look at the Wii...Now think about how many MORE people are in to cell phones as opposed to gaming systems.
And as far as iChat, at&t hasn't crippled the phone. Keep in mind that Apple is the one making it. 100% of at&t's phones support IM programs at this point so it was obviously Apple's decision.

Not as good, but its got everything I need(keyboard with messaging capabilities and 2.0 megapixel camera.)
Paying that amount for a phone is ridiculous. YOu could just get an mp3 player and any other smart phone for half the cost.
I'm not even gonna pick up the helio till the price drops a bit. Just stick with my pre-paid shit till then.
