That occurred during the Alien Hippy years. They were too busy eating Space Cake and engaging in wild alien orgies to care about what was going on here.

The Federation of Light has already apologized for that. That's why they want to make sure it doesn't happen again.

That was something we were able to get through as a species...we're cutthroats now and the low point would (if, of course, the aliens didn't save us) be MUCH MUCH lower than that of the Great Depression.

Not that theres anything wrong with the illegals, e.t.s would just be alot cooler.
