well shit...I hope you find a job. Ive done some stupid shit like that in the past that made me loose my job. In the end I found a better job that makes me much happier and I dont regret what I did. I know in the short term its going to be hard but in the long run I know you will be alright. Stay up.

i take that back,your prob right.didnt think of that

they can block unemployment if you steal or do some malus to the company.i think you could probably fight your cause,jus make an excuse why you didnt take the test.i can understand why they fired you but its fucked up that theres blockin your un-emp,they mus really be hurting for cash

shit is so bad out there that im collecting unemployment from a temp agency because they have no work available and they tried fighting it and never showed up to the appeal hearing and i won

You can try and appeal but you sealed your fate by not giving a shit and doing what you wanted

i dont mean to sound harsh man, but its your own fault. depending on how long you were there you might want to also leave them off the resume or future application. your reason for termination isnt favorable and would only harm you.....the gap in employment can be explained as "helping a sick relative"

honestly you should learn from this...and turn your stumbling block into a stepping stone.

I agree with you. BUT, he can still leave the job on his resume if he so decides. It isn't legal for a former employer to go into why you are no longer with the company.

I did. in certain cases u can. Just go to the EDD website. I quit one of my jobs under stress. I had dr notes, meds, i was having MIGRAINS, couldnt sleep , nite sweats etc!! :). I told them is was stressful on my body to show up for work every day and never no when i will be laid off. We had been hearing Lay off rumors for a awhile , so i took it a step further and quit and got me some free money etc.

I got fired and while recieving my firing papers they gave me all the paper work for unemployment...i was at that job for about seven years and then they fired me for insubartination.....i ahve a feelin my supervisor and manager didnt want to fire me but the new human resource group wanted to make a example of me...but i called unemployment that day and had a check 3 weeks later no prob.....i think its up to the employer to grant payment and if they refuse you can appeal under certain situations.

Yup, I got fired once for something that wasn't my fault (a customer e-mailed me and told me my manager was a liar and practiced bad business). So, I lost my job for receiving "personal" e-mail. I went to unemployment, and the company appealed it and told EDD that I quit. I appealed THAT, and my old boss did not show up for the hearing...so I got it.

Why would they give free money to morons who didn't do what they were supposed to or broke the rules?

I'm not aiming that at you btw, but if that was the case then people would be getting fired on purpose so that they didn't hafta work like the rest of us. They could just go take a dump on the bosses desk and then get checks every week lol

ive wondered about that, i work at a temp agency too and didnt know if u could get unemployment while still being employed by them. But if they have no work for u, what can u do. maybe i should file for unemployment.

i didnt know if it would work either they had me placed and that place ended up not needing me after a couple months and the agency didnt have anything and still dont so i filed and was approved and they appealed and didnt show up for the hearing the the guy ordered in my favor

I work for a temp agency... I'm gettin laid off end of next month

I plan on filing for unemployment... plus I got a job I can probably do on the side just getting paid straight cash... so that will be cool

but I know some lady who worked for a temp agency... she got laid off the job she was doing for a couple weeks but was gonna go back to the same job... she said she collected unemployment for that short time period... when they called her for another job she just didn't answer her phone cause she wanted to just get the unemployment... she called em back and said she couldn't do the job

I guess it worked
