I was'nt clowing, just simply stating a fact. There's ghetto parts but the city as a whole aint that ghetto, what does that mean people from antioch should'nt rap. And yeah I do know bout it homie, all too well unfortunately. Fucked up situation but it is what it is. There you go again putting my business in the street, did'nt we already go over this, it's getting kind of old bro. I'll tell you what though this city does get grimeyer and grimeyer by the day.

No one had the streets of Antioch on lock like Ryan "Woodie" Wood (R.I.P) and no one will have it like that again. No one can fill those shoes.

I think Big Tone and his camp are going to own the City for a longggg time to come. They have the streets backin' them. They from what I understand put out quality music and they already have a pipeline of projects. They could take their catalog and pick up Distribution anywhere. No one else can land legit Distribution (try it).

The main problem with the artists coming out of Antioch is that they don't have a strong business foundation behind them. Because they are making good music, so that isn't the issue. They are missing business steps to take them to the next level.

In this day and age of the Computer and Internet, the Cd sales out of the Record Stores such as Rock Bottom and Underdog Records will never be the same as they once were. An artist from Antioch back in the day could sell 250-500 pieces of a single project out of Rock Bottom (sit down and ask Rick himself. Ask him who used to do it, ha ha ha ha) and now an artist with the hottest project on the streets of Antioch will do 30-75 pieces of a single project out of Rock Bottom. You have to expand your avenues!

The list of Artists who will control Antioch on a Big Scale for the next few years are:

Big Tone
XO Creep
Damien (if he can move to the next business steps)
and Mac Bonez (based on the fact that he has been doing it there for years, and off the fact of the "CoCo Classics" Compilation that solified his name.)

Unless the next person has STREET CRED. I mean SERIOUS STREET CRED. (straight out the pen type cred.) then the above guys will not allow anyone else in the market and sell cds. Unless they are Trunk Scanning.

I hope that this tread doesn't get deleted because their can be some good information that can be dropped in here. There are some O.G.'s watching this tread and could come in here and drop a few "IMPORTANT" tips that could help an artist break out to the next level.

And go and support other local Antioch artists. You all know you go into Rock Bottom Records and look at the other local artists and see their cds on the "LOCAL CD SECTION" and say I am going to be better then them. Instead of saying that and having that attitude, pick 1 or 2 up and support your other local artist. Make the sales of the entire city increase! Make it a factor!

Oh yeah I also want to state that Lexxx from Antioch did a GREAT job promoting his first cd Lexxx "Connected". He did the Wrapped Van (huge marketing plus), he handed out Flyers, he handed out Samplers and he sold his cd's by hand. People forget about dude, but he did the Marketing The "CORRECT" Way.

I did'nt even know LEXX was from Antioch. I used to see that van (I think it was an Expedition or Navi) around down, it had hella dudes faces on it, I thought LEXX was a group for the longest time. Anyways, what would be some advice you would give an up and coming artist like myself, being from Antioch, as far as from business standpoint? Or just advice period.

stay true to that antioch style sound. Drop off your cd at rock bottom, and underdogg
Make flyers and give a stack to lucky 5(the name changed i dunno what its called now), suns fashion etc. Get at least one big name feature
