Quite honestly I have no clue. Fucking wall street journal put out a bullshit ass article and now I get asked a million times a day at work lmfao. I'm an android fan so I won't switch, especially after using the iphone on several occasions to see what the hype was about.

lol i asked this verizon chick in some booth in a mall, she said it might have been some april fools shit, she was cute as fuck too, im going back to the booth where she's at the day i upgrade to the droid. i swear she gave me wood.

My suggestion is to revert back to the stock rom, root that rom, and carry on from there and you can use custom roms so your not tied down and unable to use certain apps because of the lack of root acess
EDIT::
your actually fucked theres no way to revert from the leak to the stock rom..
maybe create a username and search or ask if you can put a custom rom on there still

How would I go about putting a custom ROM on there?

Am I not going to be able to update the phone at all now?

the same way you put the leaked 2.1 Id imagine.. but Id ask the eris community, as I have no idea about the eris's hardware Id hate for you to have a bricked phone

Seems like years, but rooting could=up to 2 years of use with an android device
cause you can keep configuring every new baseversion to match your phone
or someone else can
hes saying hes sick of his shit, fucking root it as easy as that video, and slap the HTC sense on there n he good to go for a couple years

I was worried about bricking my Droid too, especially since I had it for about a month before rooting it. The tutorials out there are really good and you can always go back to stock if you brick.

Fillyacup ...which phone are you using?

I'm running the Fresh 2.0d ROM and I don't plan on flashing any other ROM right now, shit is running smooth and fast. I have no issues with anything at all, MMS works, FB/Google sync works, camera works, everything works...

Should take way less than a half hour fillya, post up any questions you got if you run into any trouble I can help and I'm sure 4Sided can too, used to own a MyTouch myself and I used the Recovery Flasher program then just flashed a Rom and was set.

to be real with you...I'm sticking with Fresh 2.0d ROM for now..

I haven't had any issues at all like i did with other roms..

I've tried almost every rom that's out there from 1.5 to 2.1 ROMs ..

1st rom i flashed on my phone was Fresh 1.1. and it was cool for a few until Pancake 0.1 came out...if I ever go back to a 1.5 ROM, it will be my Nandroid backup of Pancake 0.1 ..

but as far as flashing other 2.1 ROM's ...I'm sticking to Fresh 2.0d ..

Can't wait till we get the full Sprint release for 2.1 though...
