Berto is going to beat up on Ortiz. Ortiz has been to the dark place before and he folded. Once Berto hits him with a hard punch Ortiz will fold again and get stopped. Khan should win has fight, but I would love to see him get knocked out again.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Berto gets dropped as well, before winning by KO. He's been dropped by lesser punchers and Quintana actually wobbled him and berto went down but the ref ruled it a slip or something (replay showed it was a legit shot to the side of the head).

still think Golden boy is stupid for putting ortiz up against berto in his first fight at welterweight.

Regardless I think this fight could have some fireworks.

Can't wait for this fight.

Everyone and their mothers are underestimating Ortiz, can't wait for him to come out and quiet all his naysayers once n' for all with this victory.

let me guess. the winner will fight Pacman or Mosely. Especially if Pacman wins cuz Floyd will retire for good before he gives Pac the chance to knock his ass out

I don't think it's that bad. Ortiz is in a weird situation, GBP has to be paying him a decent chunk of change, he had the embarrassing fight against Maidana then the weird draw against Peterson. If he can come in get an instant title shot against supposed chinny WW title holder and get a strap around his waist then nearly instant redemption and justification for the hype .. if he can't well brush it off to going up in weight and fighting an undefeated speed fighter with decent pop.

I think it's put up or shut up time for Ortiz. Even if he were to lose, if they put him in with Canelo at 147lbs, they could sell the hell out of that fight. Not sure if Canelo can get down that low as he keeps growing into his body but who knows?

I'm interested in seeing this fight. They're both a little chinny so it could set up for a good night. I just hope they don't fight like wussies because they're afraid of each others power

Victor Ortiz Debuts Rap Single “Catwalk”

http://beatsboxingmayhem.com/2011/04/06/victor-ortiz-debuts-rap-single-catwalk/

Victor Ortiz has the biggest match of his boxing career coming up April 16 against undefeated welterweight titlist Andre Berto. But that hasn’t stopped Ortiz from finding time to develop a second career as a rapper (“Mr. Ortiz”). Under Kash Rock entertainment, Ortiz has released the radio-aimed first single “Catwalk.”

The song is a clichéd club track down to its autotune effects. Ortiz rap vocals do sound much assertive than his regular voice. Whether due to studio tweaking or his own adjustments, the high pitch of his speaking voice is absent. As expected, his rhymes are very simple, but he doesn’t embarrass himself on this first effort. He won’t have anyone clamoring for his next song, but it’s not a horrible first attempt from someone who’s obviously a novice.

Think we’ll get an Andre Berto or Marcos Maidana diss record? A Roy Jones-Victor Ortiz collab? No word yet on if a video is coming for “Catwalk.”

Im pullin for Ortiz.

2-0 you are right, he does have a chip on his shoulder. Here in KC the morning sports show I listen to 810whb.com is really up on him (of course cause he reps KC).....

Anyway, during his interview he went on and on about how mad he is now. That people are talking about him too much and he is going to show his ass in this fight. We'll see........

regular HBO. The undercard has Amir Khan vs McClowsky (tape delayed from England) so it's a very solid HBO card.

Victor has been talking a real good game lately, I just want to see him do it. Berto has very fast hands and has pretty decent power. How will Victor react when he gets hit flush? Will he do what he did against Peterson (fight cautiously) or will he got beast mode like he says?

This is a make or break fight for Ortiz and he knows it.
