So you're saying that Amare playing at the PF position this year looks better than the greatest PF to ever play the game?
ummm yeah pretty much. i mean he's averaging prolly 30+ since the switch and his rebounds are still up there and really havent declined much. his d isnt better than duncans obviously but he still has the good defense and he's a guy that other ballers will switch there shot up if there close to him in the paint. i dunno it's hard for me not to be a homer in this situation cause i love watchin Amare play (no homo) and never got inot duncan granted i know his greatness. i dunno but the stats can sorta back my shit up though so.... i know not alot of y'all were not going to agree but it isnt like i'm making a blind statement here. i've seen duncan play his rookie career and now i'm seeing amare play his rookie career as a PF if u catch my drift and he looks alot better at the position thats all

I also think its funny that people find the comparison outrageous considering the fact that Amare is going to get MVP votes this year if the noise going around is true and Duncan has yet to be MENTIONED in the same sentence as MVP.
But fuck all that too.. He's better because he is. I see it. Coaches see it. Analysts see it. Columnist see it.. and now they're writing about it. If you think I'm the only one who sees this, you're tripping.. either that or you just simply dont watch enough basketball.
Of course Amare is getting MVP votes cuz he is playing great ball this season, there is no is denying that but saying Amare shits on Duncan is pretty ludicrous if you ask me. Duncan is not mentioned this year cuz he having a mediocre season and is tied on the Spurs in points a game with Manu(19.6).... AND the Spurs still have a better record then the Suns! Yes I agree with you that as of late Amare has been taking it to Timmy but regardless Duncan ain't got shit to prove anyways he's already won 2 MVP's, so your point is?? And last game Duncan scored 23 and Amare had 21 with the help of Shaq glogging the middle. He's on his 11 season and damn near 32 years old, but oh I get it Duncan is not one of the best anymore cuz Amare is getting talked about as an MVP candidate which he ISN'T going to win anyways and Duncan ain't on the radar! Amare is a dope basketball don't get me wrong but give it a few years or championships, then you can start braggin about Amare>Duncan, lol!

And yall acting like Tim Duncan won them championships on his own.. Cmon.. The Admiral? Avery Johnson? Sean Elliot?
Its pretty obvious you didn't read my my previous post so here you go AGAIN:
The thing that YOU ARE failing to realize by your statement is that Timmy has been the constant player in those 4 Championship and IS the ONLY Spurs player to have 4 rings.... WITHOUT Duncan's help the San Anto Spurs most likely would have never won any of them! I'm not saying he is the only one that contributes to the wins cuz without Robinson, Parker, Ginobili and countless others who have hit big shots and as well had defensive stops are part of the success but he plays a big role.
Tim Duncan has had the upper hand on Amare since he entered the league. That has changed this season.
Well then maybe you should have rephrased the thread title to "Amare>Duncan 07-08 season"!

Don't get me wrong Amare is a very good player but he can't mess with Tim Dog yet... Amare can't even get with K.G. right now dog.

no.. the spurs have 4 championships, the suns have 0. lol@thinking duncan is the only person on the spurs to contribute to their championships.. and lol@thinking Amare is the only reason the suns DONT have rings.

look.. I give a fuck about stats, who has more chips, who plays defense better at both ends of the court. I watch these two matchup every single time they play. You cant tell me what I do and do not see.. and what I see is Amare clearly distinguishing himself as the better player. Duncan canNOT stop Amare. Plain and simple. The spurs, as a team, cannot stop him. Duncan, maybe ONCE was unstoppable, but those days are now over.
lmao

we shall see, we shall see.

Even if Amare outplays Duncan slightly, but the Suns still lose - this whole thread is meaningless.

You think Project Amare will be sitting at home happy because he got the better of Timmy, while he's watching Timmy?

I think this series is going to be the best first round match up. Hard to imagine a team with Steve Nash and Shaq going out in the first round but too bad they face the champion Spurs. They always turn it on when they need to and we're going to see Tim Duncan school Amare again.
