Amare is NOT > Duncan....cmon now.

Duncan is regarded as one of the BEST PF's to play this game. Not only does he have the rings to back that, he also has the stats and preformances.

Amare didnt do SHIT to Duncan the last 3 years in the playoffs. THe one team that the Suns CANNOT get past in the post season, is the Spurs. Tim EXCELS in the post season, and he has proved that.

However, comparing a 31 year old with a 25 year old aint really fair. Technically, Tim is on his starting the downslope career wise, while Amare is approaching his prime.

But i will say that Amare has shown that he needs to play PF as opposed to C...Shaq has unleashed Amare's inner beast...

so do u find it fair to compare a 1st year pf to one of the best thats played? in amare's 1st year at this position he's doing some great things and looks better than duncan ever was. amare wasnt a center i never felt he would be great at that position cause he has to much athleticism. IMO if the sunsa have to face the spurs in a series this year with the team they got the suns will finally get there number but who knows

Duncan lead the Spurs to a championship in his first year.

he has no jumper, and if he wasnt the high flying wreckless dunker he is he probably would be a bench player.
lol

no jumper?

dog, he hits over 50% of his jumpshots. He's got a beatiful J that he's been working on for the past 4 years. And he shoots them all the time now.

no.. the spurs have 4 championships, the suns have 0. lol@thinking duncan is the only person on the spurs to contribute to their championships.. and lol@thinking Amare is the only reason the suns DONT have rings.
The thing that YOU ARE failing to realize by your statement is that Timmy has been the constant player in those 4 Championship and IS the ONLY Spurs player to have 4 rings.... WITHOUT Duncan's help the San Anto Spurs most likely would have never won any of them! I'm not saying he is the only one that contributes to the wins cuz without Robinson, Parker, Ginobili and countless others who have hit big shots and as well had defensive stops are part of the success but he plays a big role.

look.. I give a fuck about stats, who has more chips, who plays defense better at both ends of the court.

Well this proves otherwise that YOU DO care for stats because your obviously comparing them..... Yeah your right though I ain't going to sit here and lie, as of late Amare has been giving Duncan a good game but by no means does that mean Amare shits on Duncan! Amare is good but he has a lot more to go in this league. What the fuck do you expect from a guy who has been in the league 10 years???? He don't got nothing to prove to anyone especially to a bitter Suns fan when he's already got 4 rings.....

Nah.. You missed my point on that.. I posted the stats in response to the people thinking it was outrageous that Amare is better than Duncan.. because stats don't lie. But that's not the reason I think he's better. I think he is cuz I see him play every single game. And I watch a good amount of Spurs games too. Seen a handful this season.
I also think its funny that people find the comparison outrageous considering the fact that Amare is going to get MVP votes this year if the noise going around is true and Duncan has yet to be MENTIONED in the same sentence as MVP.
But fuck all that too.. He's better because he is. I see it. Coaches see it. Analysts see it. Columnist see it.. and now they're writing about it. If you think I'm the only one who sees this, you're tripping.. either that or you just simply dont watch enough basketball.

And yall acting like Tim Duncan won them championships on his own.. Cmon.. The Admiral? Avery Johnson? Sean Elliot?

Tim Duncan has had the upper hand on Amare since he entered the league. That has changed this season.

Amare is nowhere near T. Duncan's level. Very few people are in the history of the game IMO. Duncan is on some "Bill Russell sacrifice yourself for your team" type of shit, and his rings speak loudly to me. The guy will go down as one of the best to ever play the game, no doubt about it. And it's refreshing to see a Superstar who is so calm and not big-headed like most stars are today...

where was this thread when the suns were 3-7 with Shaq?

Everyone knows that Amare is excelling because of Shaq's presence. Whether dude scores 14 or 6, the fact that Amare doesn't have to suck at playing center is a plus.

Took them a while to figure it out, but they got it after like 13 games.

im a big suns/amare fan and no way in hell amare is better than duncan, but amare is the man! and hes only 25 years old and he gettin every year better and better, and dont forget he had 2 knee injuries, and one of them was a microfracture and he came back better then ever give the man props couse this injury was career ending for many nba players!

Amare one of the best power forwards in the NBA ??? HELL YEAH!!! there is doubt about it.

Tim Duncan is the best power forward to ever play the game. He's won 4 NBA Championships and has battled Shaq/Kobe's Lakers to win some of those titles. The Spurs didn't even make it the NBA Finals when Robinson and Avery Johnson was there. They drafted Tim Duncan and all of a sudden they win 4 championships. Yeah Parker, Ginobli play their roles but when it's all said and done... it's all because of Tim Duncan.

As for this year wait until they meet up in the playoffs before you say Amare is better than Duncan. I watch basketball and Tim steps up big time in the playoffs. And Tim has owned Amare in their playoff matchups. Why do you think Phoenix traded for Shaq? I'll answer that for you.. because Tim has a history of schooling Amare in the playoffs.
