Duncan > Amare defensively

I'll give you that to some extent.. There are many facets to defense though. Some Amare excels, others--like perimeter d and post--hes lazy in.. but he is improving in those. But coming from the weakside? forget about it.. he's averaging 2.2 blocks per game. And he's actually pretty smart when it comes to getting over to take a charge properly.

Tim being the key player on championship teams gets my nod. Amare had a tremendous team around him the past few years, including an MVP in Nash, and couldn't even make the Finals.

I like Amare, too; he's a fucking stud (no homo, whatever)...and can't stand Duncan, but I can't deny his talent.

Not to mention Duncan has almsot every skill of being a great PF. Heights, Speed (not super slow), Hands, Soft Shot, Jumper, Post Up Game, Defense, Rebounding, Offensive Rebounding, Passing, Blocks, Steals. I dont think he really has a weakness other then his age or his superior athleticism. he is smart, knows how to space his defenders to help let his team mates get easier shots. Amare dont get me wrong could be great but until he gets there he is second best. Duncan has been doing this for 10 seasons probably. Lets see when Amare's legs start going out on him. see if he has what it takes to be good then. he will be good, just not sure how good.

look.. I give a fuck about stats, who has more chips, who plays defense better at both ends of the court. I watch these two matchup every single time they play. You cant tell me what I do and do not see.. and what I see is Amare clearly distinguishing himself as the better player. Duncan canNOT stop Amare. Plain and simple. The spurs, as a team, cannot stop him. Duncan, maybe ONCE was unstoppable, but those days are now over.

Amare a better player than Duncan? You can't be serious man..... Amare is a better dunker than Tim but that's it. When the playoffs come we'll see who's better. Amare right now is benefiting from the addition of Shaq. I watched that game last night and Duncan did look uncomfortable but that's because of Shaq's presence not Amare's. Amare and Tim have gone head up a few times in the playoffs and Tim has schooled him everytime in the "playoffs".

amare can jump and dunk and can shoot a decent free throw. thats it. he has no jumper, and if he wasnt the high flying wreckless dunker he is he probably would be a bench player. 6th-7th man type. but he is dominating in the pick and roll/slash tot he basket game phx plays.

As much as I love Amare's game. It's Duncan over Amare all day for me. Amare might have a better regular season this year but the Spurs always kick it into gear in the postseason. Amare has a long way to go before we can mention him in the same breath with Duncan as far as all-time great power forwards.

LOL Duncan can school Stat whenever he needs to. Hes toned down his game since Parker and Ginobili have emerged. Every year they faced off in the post season Amare averages over 25. You know why? Cuz Pop said thats what they wanted him to do so noone else could get involved. Tim still put up all-star numbers and they whooped the Suns same core team 3-4 times in the playoffs already. So Amare can dunk the ball and go roll around in that one Pacific Division champ banner or maybe that WNBA title banner they got up in Phoenix cuz those are the only banners him and his ego will ever touch.
