Like I said, Nate Dog NEVER, NEVER relied on devices (fuk u tpain). Autotune and talk box are kool every so often.. but when you become known for just that gimmick, it gets old pretty quick. Akon, I never really liked dude. didnt he get in trouble for dry humping some 13yr old and tossing some kid off stage at a concert?

Nate Dogg is a MUCH better singer than T-Pain, but Pain is more versatile. I mean T-Pain is more than just hooks this nigga's albums be slapping. This nigga writes singles and they be smash hits. I don't know if Nate Dogg has ever done that. I could be wrong....

why niggas hatin on t pain???? t pain aint never said nuthin... these words is comin out of akons mouth!! i bet tpain would have sumthin different to say!! i bet tpain would actually give it up to nate dogg more than akon!! akon is makin a lil bit of sense but at the same time we need to add up tha numbers n see if they right in the end!! and fyi everybody uses autotune if you sing best believe youre using autotune .. it may not be the tpain effect (fyi tpain has his own effect on autotune the actual plug in) but its autotune for sure!! dont think that nate dogg was in there straight off raw vocals nobody that sings gets there vocals treated like that

Nate Dogg is a pioneer but I aint never had his album. I hated t-pain everytime I'd see him on bet with funny ass hats. Then I was listening to the radio one day and that stripper song came on. Slappin! I didnt think he had that in him. From a females point of view: that shit slaps. The strip clubs and the clubs are goin crazy. Best strip club song I've heard. Then chopped and screwed hits the radio. I went from hatin him to getting his album. I remember hearin akon for the first time. I'm locked up! That song made no criminal sense. Lyfe was way harder. But akon went way further. Probably rapin people for hooks. Hes cocky but album for album who would win? Did Nate make good business decisions when healthy? Did he seize the time?

hmm. good point. I guess I dont like how much he uses autotune. And I guess he complained about people "copying his idea" awhile back, and ever since that I've lost respekt for him. But none the less, you have made a good point, this coming outta Akon's mouth, so it probably is different.

it dosent mather in this case because its about hooks not numbers, diffrents styles and hits like that..

t-pain or akon wont ever touch nate and what he done, and can do.. come on they would never get the call to get on detox e.g

i would get Bosko or Fingazz anyday over t-pain.. real talkbox is the shit

no disrespect but nate dogg suffered hella strokes this year and is paralyzed from the waist down. do yall really think he's about to come out with lay low part 2?

this might be a 'west coast niggas overreating' moment

i didnt consider it THAT disrespectful, as it stands, nate dogg isnt any competition for t-pain unless nate dogg goes through an amazing ass recovery

Yeah Nate dogg can't really sing very well ( Live) I remember him and Warren G performing regulators when it first came out I think it was on Arsenio Hall..I was like, damn that shit sounds horrible...and autotune aint new at all, they even had the plug in installed in the Mackie digital 8 Bus mixers in the late 90's, and before then pitch correction and harmonizers were effects from a few companies like EVENTIDE. I really do not believe that if Nate Dogg was any healthier things would be different because Nate Dogg has been pretty irrelevant for a long time. Nate Dogg put out some great music and I feel fortunate to have been able to listen to him, but his time like LV, Levitti, are gone.
Most music has a time period, and then it is off to something else seems to be a 10 year window, and if an artist can not change with the times, well they become irrelevant. This can be seen in Rock and R&B..Look at the Isley Brothers...They been around since the late 50's early 60's who from that time is relevant.....Ron Isley made changes with the times and had much sucess over the last 10 years. and prior. Where is Lil Jon? he had songs on the radio for years......maybe he was a one trick pony T-Pain..never liked his music...he has been doin his auto-tune thing for Awhile, and I think we are at the end of his auto-tune effect driven songs...I hear alot of people bashing those songs, and then Kanye had his fans mad with his recent Auto-tune infactuation..this coupled with every kid with a computer trying to mimic The auto-tune Effect as seen on many Myspaces, and You-tube has put a knife in the heart of Auto-tune effect and I think it will be on its way out sometime this year or the next.
So i agree..Dont be mad at T-Pain for what Akon Said, but in the same sentence I do not support the T-Pain type music that he has been putting out....its just not for me...and Nate Dogg even though I like his music...he is through musically( on the mainstream level) and letting a bitch get at you to where you want to chase a bitch on the freeway...thats another story (Scratches head in disgust)
Rap music as well as other music is going in a direction that will make many of us sit back and reminisce those days when shit was poppin, I think that there is a market for everything old and new and those who have success will learn how to tap those markets in a different way because making radio friendly songs, and using the same blueprint as many have before is of no significant use, I almost think its back to basics...takin shit back to the streets..the people, not the C.E.O's thats how rap music even came to the level it did, because the streets was a big part of what was hot, to an extent it still is, but many artists are skipping this step, and C.E.O's played an important role as well, but those days are over...there will be fewer, and fewer artists with mainstream numbers, so what other choice is there but to build a fan base..look at small restaraunts...even though they may not be a chain like some big ones they still can make money..because they built there own fan base.

t-pain is actually better than he gets credit for

people couple tpain with akon too much

tpain can actually rap

akon is a hookmaster

wheras t pain is a hookmaster too, i dont think that makes him as an artist like it makes akon..if t pain turned off the autotune hed still have hits.

...or atleast good songs to listen to.
