A strong young male african elephant is drinking from a water hole, an older weaker african elephant tries to gain a spot next to the water hole and gently shoves the young one out of the way. The young elephant then gouges the older one with his tusks, killing the old elephant. For the next few weeks it is observed that the young elephant which killed the older one distances himself from the rest of the herd and starves himself.

....to deny that this was a case of conscience would be stupid, what else would drive the young elephant to starve himself and not interact with the others? It was obviously guilt.

Anyways heres my 2 cents on what a world without religion would be... Most of the wars/conquerings/executions throughout history certainly would not have happened if it weren't for religion. We did not have religion from the start, we gained it with civilization and language. In this alone I see proof that religion is bogus, why would god all the sudden be like, 'Oh shit, theyre startin to get smart, maybe i should go have a talk with them, let em know that i'm here'. And some primates use sticks as a tool to collect termites to eat. They also use rocks to crush hardshelled fruits to eat. Us homosapiens were once just another primate that used sticks and rocks as tools.
And our fellow primates very well have the potential to develop advanced communication... as some chimpanzees know sign language and can communicate fairly well. By teaching chimpanzees a form of sign language is how we found out that primates have an extended memory, because some could refer to things in past tense.

If man evolved from other primates then this means an advantage or series of advantages was acquired through evolution (darwinism, survival of the fittest). Some people are born with six toes, or six fingers. It exists in a mutated gene. And it's more common than u may think. all my science teacheres have said evolution of any kind takes many many years, thats obvious, lol. i mean...just look at how the average height of humans has grown of the past 400 years, and thats strictly due to dieting, and things of that nature. Changes influenced by our other surroundings take many years to notice.
