Hey Cool Nutz... Have you ever thought about an album with live musicians backing you? If not, I think it would be real cool. Anyways, I think because this dude doesn't understand where you're comin' from, it's easy to condemn what he doesn't know and doesn't live. Although I think he was a bit harsh, I agree with some of his points. The reason being, of all the Cool Nutz projects I've heard, I've not heard much of an evolution lyrically. You can take it how you want, but what I'd like to hear is what makes Cool Nutz tick. I mean, there's word play, timing, delivery, and metaphor, all which you do well. But then there's taking yourself outside of the typical, and giving the audience something they can relate too on a larger scale than just locally. I guess what I'm trying to say is, there's the ability to rhyme, and there's the ability to touch lives on a deeper level. In my opinion it's the latter of the two that give an artist longevity in the idustry.
Another thing I've thought about, and with all do respect, much of the music I've heard from Jus Family fits the same format of many other national artists. And although it's a step above the majority of other NW artists in quality, production, professionalism, it's still just a step behind other national product in sound and lyrical content. So the solution to me is to reinvent HipHop and to establish a sound that others will follow. Because you've already established yourself as an artist well known in the industry, I think you have the best chance of taking it to that next level. If you want my opinion, or even care to hear it, I'd like to hear the Cool Nutz Biography album. A recollection of everything life's taught you. And in that, you'd be teaching many of these other NW artists wanting to follow in your footsteps. All Cool Nutz, no features. That would be some artistic shit in my opinion.
If any of this sounds like I'm hatin', I'm just misunderstood. My intentions are good. Infact, you've paved the way for me in ways. Keep hustlin'.
