@ Young Krime

Actually, it's just something to get peoples attention. I really won't feel that I'm the REAL King of the NW until I have some of the same success that Mix A Lot had. That title is just something to get other rappers attention like it got yours. The shit was thought out very well, just like I Hate Cool Nutz.

The REAL King of the NW would have to be Mix A Lot being that he has done more then all of us. Don't let shit get under your skin so much. Just like you might say that you are the King Of Tacoma. I would just have to take it for what it is.

I'm still waiting to get the crown. But the shit sure does sound good. I think it has a real nice ring to it my friend. Keep grindin my nigga. The shit is strategic bro.

Hey Cool Nutz... Have you ever thought about an album with live musicians backing you? If not, I think it would be real cool. Anyways, I think because this dude doesn't understand where you're comin' from, it's easy to condemn what he doesn't know and doesn't live. Although I think he was a bit harsh, I agree with some of his points. The reason being, of all the Cool Nutz projects I've heard, I've not heard much of an evolution lyrically. You can take it how you want, but what I'd like to hear is what makes Cool Nutz tick. I mean, there's word play, timing, delivery, and metaphor, all which you do well. But then there's taking yourself outside of the typical, and giving the audience something they can relate too on a larger scale than just locally. I guess what I'm trying to say is, there's the ability to rhyme, and there's the ability to touch lives on a deeper level. In my opinion it's the latter of the two that give an artist longevity in the idustry.

Another thing I've thought about, and with all do respect, much of the music I've heard from Jus Family fits the same format of many other national artists. And although it's a step above the majority of other NW artists in quality, production, professionalism, it's still just a step behind other national product in sound and lyrical content. So the solution to me is to reinvent HipHop and to establish a sound that others will follow. Because you've already established yourself as an artist well known in the industry, I think you have the best chance of taking it to that next level. If you want my opinion, or even care to hear it, I'd like to hear the Cool Nutz Biography album. A recollection of everything life's taught you. And in that, you'd be teaching many of these other NW artists wanting to follow in your footsteps. All Cool Nutz, no features. That would be some artistic shit in my opinion.

If any of this sounds like I'm hatin', I'm just misunderstood. My intentions are good. Infact, you've paved the way for me in ways. Keep hustlin'.

@ Tribal aka Myst aka Nick Belgarde

I appreciate your feedback. But you are a hater, and you used to hate when you were in the studio with Bullet, Arjay, J-Ritz, and Skin-Fa-Red. This is just a forum for you to air that shit out, and the Willamette Week writer gave you just the proper opportunity to do that.

There were many times when I saved you from a good down home ass kicking. It is funny how you come in here with this type of shit, and try to mask it a constructive criticism. You have never had good things to say about me or my music, especially when I wasn't around. But when I was in your studio helping you with those bad mixes, it was a whole lot of Cool Nutz jocking going on. Cool Nutz how can we make these drums sound better? Cool Nutz how do you think this bassline should sound? Cool Nutz would you put effects on these vocals? And I think that we both know that there are people that can verify what I am saying.

Instead of you writing about what I am doing wrong you should really be in the mirror looking at what you have been doing wrong for the last 6 years. I have heard those badly recorded albums, I have heard those badly recorded vocals, and not once have I taken it upon myself to voice it to the public. You always had bad shit to say, and I can see that that hasn't changed. I never made it a point to have bad feelings towards you, even when people that I was dealing with had problems with you.

It's funny that my music hasn't evolved, but J-Ritz is coming to me asking for feedback on his album. I don't have any of your numbers, and I don't stay in touch with you, so the only way that I could get my hands on any of your material is from you giving it to me. I respect what you and J-Ritz are doing, but I don't appreciate all that behind the back the shit that I have tolerated over the years from you.

And the question is, do you even own a copy of the Collabos?

P.S. You also need to find a way to stop that cat from pissing on your mixing board.

@ Young Krime

He is saying some real shit, but it isn't coming from real cat.

I CAN FULLY GUARANTEE THAT WHOEVER PUMPED YOUR HEAD WITH THE NON-SENSE OF HIM DOWNTALKIN YOUR MUZIK OR YOU AZ A PERSON, IZ THA SAME PERSON THAT DID THE SAME WITH YOU & I, AROUND THE SAME TYME...(YOU KNOW WHO THE INSTIGATOR IS.) @ Terrance

This is exactly the type of response I expected from you. And I was serious when I said that my intentions are good. While it seems you know an awful lot about me, it's apparent that you are guilty of the same thing you condemn me for. Two wrongs don't make a right bro. So my question is this, when do we leave the animosity behind us and build toward a better and stronger NW? I'm confident that my artistic and creative vision is an asset to the people doing music here, and all I ever wanted was to see my home town be recognized for thier efforts, including you. You are a major player on my home team, so why do you think I'm trying to bring you down? I'm not gonna sit here and explain to you my life story, but if you think I'm a hater you've got me all wrong. Infact, the only reason why I decided to reply to this post is because I recognize the state of the HipHop community here and you are the leader. It's because I DO want to see you make it that I offered my opinion, because if you do it opens doors for the rest of us little people.

To separate fact from fiction, there is nothing bad I have said about you, or could say about you. I only know you through your music and the few times I've met up with you. Earlier in this thread you asked when it became wrong to want to be successful? Here's the answer. Apparently it's wrong when you admire one's work enough to study it, learning the in's and out's of how it's done properly, and when you try to do it better than the best allowing it to evolve. All I ever did was look up to you for your accomplishments, and all it seems you can do is down talk me. Which brings me to my next point. A REAL king would recognize the difference between "hate" and a young kid outta college trying to chase his dreams. One, I'm not a kid anymore. Two, I'm a man who has the ability to get over minor differences such as this. Three, it once felt like we all were playing follow the leader, and you were it. Now, after learning from your experiences I realize that "I'm" the leader of my future, and you are definately not the type of person I want to follow. So for that, thank you for teaching me what NOT to be.

Regardless of our differences, I am still pushing for you, and everybody else following thier dreams here. I realize now more than ever that it's pointing out those differences that keep us separated. It's embracing those differences and respecting eachother that will make us more united. I know through experience that it's next to impossible to find others with the same passion for music as me. And when you can share that passion with others, it makes it easier to feel like all the hard work and effort will pay off in the end. I guess it's inevitable though that we carry on with animosity, separated, and without direction.

I apologize if anything I said upset you. It certainly wasn't meant to piss you off. I guess it just doesn't sit well when people call me a fake and a hater. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm as real as they come.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Sanford Belgard

P.S. Infact I do own a copy of Collabos. And I'm still waiting for your next project.

@ J-Ritz

I really don't have any issues with you, I just have issues with all of that fake stuff that your boy has been doing for years. Bullet hasn't instigated anything, and even with his past issues with you guys I never got involved in any of that bullshit. Otherwise, I would have always had shit to say about you. I knew that his issue was just that, his issue.

However, there was always shit being said behind my back, and then all of that fake cool shit when I came around. I kept it real and stayed the fuck out of that shit. When you called me and wanted me to critique your album, I did that, only because you had called me and asked me to do so.

However, whenever someone puts "I'm not hating" in a statement, most of the time it means their hating. If not, the word wouldn't be on their mind. They would just stick to saying they are just telling me some real shit.

@ Nick

Keep it real bro.
