Lmao, "David Hill" what an idiot.

Thinking white people or whoever is not black are ruining hiphop? Errrrrrrr, look on a music video cycle on B.E.T , its clear that black people are killing the same culture they claim they created. That david cat has it all twisted, and he trys to relate it to a movie... fucking coward.

I mean don't get me wrong, there is allot of black peeps keepin it real, but the majority are fuckin shit up, goto any underground breakdancing scene, turntabilism/rapping scene, you will see people of all colors holding it down, they are saving the culture of hiphop, not ruining it........

Hiphop isn't about color, its an art, its a way of life... its for everyone. I mean c'mon, RUN DMC was fucking with that rock music, now you gonna call rock music WHITE people music? lmfao.. c'mon, it is not about colors, if you think it is, you need to get ya shit straightened out.

it just got focused to blacks more than latinos, but if you talk to ANYBODY from NY,where it started,it was a BRONX thing....south BRONX,which is 80% latino, that means hip hops' homeland is dominated by latinos...
Lmfao @ you thinking hiphop originated in the bronx. Hiphop originated & was created from REGGAE/SKA, Reggae/Ska originated in Jamaica, hiphop originated in Jamaica. And flew over-seas to america and the rest of the world.

LoL @ You two arguing over who invented low-riders, NOBODY KNOWS, they could of had lowriders back in 1940 for heavens sake, i mean c'mon guys... who cares who invented lowriders, lowriders are dope, how about you leave it at that? LoL@ you saying chicanos invented hydraulics, lmao... hydraulics have been used on everything from airplanes to garbage trucks, its not like they invented it right on the spot, they improvised and put it on a car, and even then it was probably allready done....

so who cares who invented lowriders and who invented hydraulics, next the argument will be who first smoked the chrons....

c;mon

lmao
hydraulics were invented by some ''chicanos'' in san bernardino on mt.vernon blvd......if you look it up,you'll see this is true,i ain't talkin' out my ass...it's true as truth can get...the first ''lowriders'' came out of san jose,,1940's is correct,by latinos...hydraulics on ''cars'' smart ass, were invented by chicanos, prove me wrong?????What i was trying to say was that diffrent cultures borrow from each other all the time......i ain't mad about blacks having love for lows'....thats' cool with me,but when people get all uptight about white people rappin',it's pretty ridiculous.

when i make a rap/hip hop song, how can i be stealing the music...when I MADE IT?!?!?!? when you can answer that one without trying to go outside the lines, then maybe ill stop expressing myself artisticly. im not pointing any fingers by all means. but in africa, did they have 6 string guitars like they use for the blues/rock music we "stole" from them? or was that a white instrument? you dont see me flippin out cuz they "stole" the idea of using a 6 string steel guitar to use in thier forms of expression. no white influence in there huh? oh, even better, what about when they use harmonicas? you see where im going. nobody has the right to say a group of people with a certain shade of skin color can or cant be involved in ANY form of artistic expression, because tho art if all about being colorful and painting a picture of whats going on in ones mind, it is color blind to skin.and props to the person wh broguth up the Lenny Kravitz/Jimi Hendrix point, i was gonna mention that, but good lookin out. there should be NO BOUNDRIES to expressing ones self.

I'm prolly goin off on a tangent here, but to all ya'll that listen to rock, doesn't it bother ya'll that Eminem gets massive amounts of play on rock stations? That only pisses me off because if he was Mos Def, Common, or Jurrasic 5 he wouldn't get any play on those stations....

Okay I'm done....have a nice day

There’s nothing wrong with white people liking hip hop. We would be crazy not to. Hip hop is amazing music, powerful music. But there is something wrong when white people are not content just being fans, or even participants, of a black music; when white people have to redefine the boundarys to include themselves, the way Rabbit does in 8 Mile.

If white people who love hip hop can find a way to appreciate hip hop without having to steal it, maybe we can save it from going the way of blues, jazz, and rock… maybe hip hop will be able to stay real.
if you can flow......you should try to redefine the boundarys.....just cuz eminem is not blacc......hes no good? he would RAPE every artist on the mic now

maybe hip hop will be able to say real......hip hops "realism" died A LONG time ago.....and who killed it?? BLACK ARTISTS!!!!

"bling bling"
"money aint a thang"

i could go on and on

This is the truth....I've brought this up before......take a listen to Mos Def's song "Rock and Roll" off of the album "Black on Both Sides". White people always steal Black music. It's like tradition. Luckily Black musicians are creative enough to continue to redefine themselves and create new genres, but only to have them raped and pillaged by whites.
Sergeant,seargent,seargent.......Always there to aggravate the white guys on the board........i'm going to ask sumn,i've already brought up.......so if white people stole ''black artistry'',then they(blacks) definitley stole the ''chicano'' artistry of lowriding, right?Alot of chicanos i know that are into lowriders are upset that it's been turned into a negaative thing by black rappers putting them in videos(most the cars you see in videos, are owned by chicano lowriders, renting them out,so i think this is stupid)glorifying gangs and shit like that.I'm not even saying i agree, but c'mon? How many times you see a black cat rolling lows' in your city...quite a bit,.huh? Why is it the end of the world for one white kid to make it in rap???Anyways,I agree that Eminem would not be as big and get play on rock stations if he weren't white, but he's still tight as fuck...heaint from the suburbs,he's mocking those people, listen to him and you'll see this.I say quit worrying about whites taking over rap, because we all know it just isnt going to happen.....stop freaking out, calm down, take a deep breath....good music is good music,no matter what color the artists' skin is.

HIP HOP HAS ITS ROOTS IN *SAMPLING*. BEFORE THE ARTIST COULD AFFORD DECENT GEAR AND STUDIO TIME THEY SAMPLED.

NOW THE QUESTION IS *WHO* DID THEY SAMPLE FROM? IF LATINOS HAVE A CONNECTION TO HIP HOP WHERE DID THE MAJORITY OF THE MUSICAL *INFLUENCE* COME FROM?

JAMES BROWN
PARLIMENT FUNKADELIC
BROTHERS JOHNSON
MARLEY

(SIMPLE EXAMPLES)

WHEN I LISTEN TO OLD KRS1, STETSASONIC OR AFRICA BAMBATA I DONT HEAR A LOT OF "LATIN" SOUNDS. I DONT HEAR LATIN "MUSIC".

I HEAR SAMPLES,LOOPS,CHOPS AND WHAT NOT FROM R&B,JAZZ AND FUNK. NOT SALSA.

@CMOKE. YOU HAVE A PICTURE IN YOUR SIG WITH CAKES AND YOU HOLDING A TOOL.

1.HAVE YOU EVER PUSHED WEIGHT?

2.DO YOU OWN A FIREARM OR HAVE YOU EVER SHOT ONE AT AN ENEMY?

3.WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?

@SHOHEI DID THIS TOPIC COME UP BECAUSE OF OUR CONVO LAST NIGHT? WHEN DID YOU START THIS?

:h:

i agree with alot of the things in the article, but the part that i thought was fucked up was when it said 'hiphop is just a black thing. whethere you're rich or poor'. - that's gay. so someone like Lil Romeo or someone who grew up a millionaire should be sayin - 'ghetto this, ghetto that'.
but as i was sayin - the article made alot of sense, for the most part
