I write like 4 songs at a time flippen to the next beat if I get stuck.

I use to sit down and grind out songs no matter what, but if you force it that's when ya bars get weak, and ya 3rd verse sucks. Ill take a week to write a track if need be, coming back, and adding more lines

Somtimes getting drunk or high helps, other time ill just be to zooted to really think

i've been spittin since 79, but i honestly quit writing rhymes down in a book or on paper over 20 years ago. i like to put on a beat and just start spittin and if somethin cool pops out i'll latch onto it and put it in my memory bank and flip it around in a rhyme till it sticks. i dont really have songs, i just have rhymes that are hella long. they never turn out the same twice, but since i aint really recording verses any more, i like it like that...

i work on like 10 tracks at a time but when im grinding like that i stay focused and dont smoke or drink......if you really trying to do it then you gotta be 110% focused at it but im not saying cuz a nigga is fucked up he cant do it. this is just what i do.......party when you party and work when you work and dont mix. alot of cats get fucked up and do there shit and it reflects in there music but this works for some people. i dont kno0w about yall but im not trying to be the next in the bay im trying to be the next in the industry period.........i spend a grip on beats and write and re-write songs constantly. oh and when you record spit 2 bars and stop and spit the next 2 bars and stop......some cats say punching is whack but trust me if you want perfection do it....

i like to write to the beat when i first hear it.. that way the emotions the beat makes me feel is fresh and when the listener listens to it they might get the same picture...

when i get stuck, ill just write another day, smoke some weed, or write to another beat

If I caint write to it when I first hear it that beat wasn't meant for me. Sounds krazy but when I hear a beat if I dont have 4 bars before that beat goes of me and that beat aint matching well. I write 16's in 10/15min. if the beat is crack

depends..

it used 2 take me bout a week to finish a song but thats when i'd get stuck and go back to it..

now, when i write, it usually takes a couple hrs to a day. it helps to get out and express wuts on my mind at that time, feel me?

beatwise, i can tell when i am gonna be able to flow to it or not..

People can hear it when you do that (no matter what you think), best bet is get the whole 16 out perfectly or at least a 8 ,

but stopping your flow every 2 bars is a bit much

ide rather hear a raw real 16 than a choppy 16 with 8 cuts into it

just my idea, but do what works best for you

NAH IF YOU DO THE 2 BARS THING ITS ALL ON YOUR DELIVERY IF YOU CAN TELL WHATS CHOPPY......I JUST DID 2 TRACKS WITH SIDEWAYS IN LA IN THE SAME STUDIO THEY DID THE LAY OVERS FOR THE SIMPSONS MOVIE.....ITS LIKE $250/HR...MY POINT IS THAT IN A STUDIO LIKE THAT YOU WOULD THINK THAT YOU COULD TELL WHEN I PUNCH BUT YOU CANT. ITS ALL ON YOUR DELIVERY. MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO MEMORIZE YOUR VERSES BEFORE YOU RECORD IT. NOW THIS WORKS FOR ALOT OF CATS SO GET IT TWISTED LIKE IM SAYING SOMETHING BAD BUT ALOT OF CATS GO TO A STUDIO AND A BEAT GETS PUT ON AND THEY WRITE TO IT AND JUST RECORD IT RIGHT THEN AND THERE. NOW THIS WORKS FOR ALOT OF CATS BUT WHEN YOU GET INTO MAJOR LABEL TYPE SHIT THE DAYS OF THAT IS OVER. ITS NOT ABOUT HOW QUICK YOU CAN WRITE A 16 AND TRACK IT OUT. DONT GET ME WRONG THIS WORKS FOR ALOT OF PEOPLE BUT ON A PRO LEVEL THIS DONT WORK. THE PUNCHIN ALOT IS ALL ONYOUR DELIVERY. YOU MAY NOT THINK YOUR SWITCHING UP YOUR FLOW BUT YOU ARE IF IT AINT COMMING OUT RIGHT. MAN I WAS IN THE STUDIO WITH SIDEWAYS AND I WAS PUNCHING WORDS HERE AND THERE. THIS DONT MEAN I CAN SPIT IT JUST MEANS I SLIPPED UP A BIT ON CERTAIN PARTS AND PERFECTION TAKES TIME. IF YOU GOT THE STUDIO TIME AND A GOOD ENGINEER TAKE TIME TO MAKE SURE EVERY WORD IS PERFECT. I GARAUNTEE PEOPLE LIKE EMINEM, 50, LUDACRIS, ETC DONT JUST GET IN THE LAD AND KNOCK OUT 16'S....PRO QUALITY DONT WORK LIKE THAT. THIS IS JUST MY ADVICE AND SOME PEOPLE WONT AGREE WITH ME BUT TRY IT AND PERFECT IT AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT I MEAN. IT WORKS OUT IN THE LONG RUN.........

2 BAR PUNCHING IN IS A LIL EXTREME TO ME... NOW IF U HAVE A PROBLEM WHILE LAYING 16 AND YOU RUN THRU IT A FEW TIMES BUT CANT GET IT RIGHT, THEN FEEL FREE TO PUNCH IN IF YOU WANT, BUT ANYTHING LESS ISNT A GREAT IDEA TO ME. A LOT OF PEOPLE IN R&B DO THE 2 AND 4 BAR PUNCH IN, BUT IT'S NOT THAT COMMON IN RAP. BUT TO EACH HIS OWN

I was in LA this weekend with Automatic and believe it or not that is how a lot of artist are recording... the 2 bar or 4 bar punches.. that is how Bishop Lamont and Glasses Malone were doing it and I have recorded Sky Balla and that is how he records...
