WHAT ABOUT R & B AND POP ARTISTS?? I DIDNT MEAN JUST RAPPERS.

Tay Only Aritst I Can Say From The Bay That May Increase Some Sort Of Downloads Wise Is A Goapole Or Clyde Carson They Still Demand Downloads But As Far As Sales I Still Stick To My Point Not To Many Artist(s) Can Translate At This Time In Music Into Great Money Investments!...Not Saying Any Artist From Out Here Is Weak By Any Means Its Just the Consumer Controls The Market And I Have Yet To See Any Featured Artists Featuring ON Another Bay Artist Demand A Big Difference In Sales

Rising Studio Costs And Production Costs Are One Of The Factors In Artists Charging More Money!! I Tried To Get A R&B Artist Fromm The Bay The Other Day To Get On A Track And They Have A Small Buzz Nothing That Would Constitute Them To Charge 2k!!!
for 2k I Would Rather Take A Risk On Working With The Artists IN House

SO HERE'S WHERE SHIT GETS HYPOCRITICAL.....IF U SAY U WANT 2 GET A MAJOR ARTIST ON SOMETHING THEY WILL CHARGE AT LEAST 20K. THATS A SERIOUS INVESTMENT. ESPECIALLY 4 SOMEONE WHO DOESNT HAVE A DEAL OR AN INVESTOR. IF U WANT 2 BE FAMOUS, YOURE GOING 2 PAY 4 IT ONE WAY OR THE OTHER....IF YOURE IN IT 4 THE MONEY,HOW WILL U MAKE YOUR INVESTMENT BACC AFTER PAYING A BIG NAME ARTIST??? I KNOW THIS MUCH,IT WOULD TAKE A LOT OF PERSONAL WORK....NOW I SEE WHY NOBODY'S PROGRESSING. PEOPLE TALK ABOUT WHAT THEY WONT DO INSTEAD OF WHAT THEY CAN DO. AND JUST 4 THE RECORD IVE SEEN ALOT OF PPL PAY SHORT AND 40 FOR VERSES.NONE OF EM EVER BLEW UP SO I THINK U GUYS ARE WRONG.HONESTLY,THE RAP BIZ CAN BE A FORM OF PROSTITUTION SO IF ONE TRICC AINT PAYIN U GO ELSEWHERE AND FIND ANOTHER...THATS ALWAYS BEEN MY MENTALLIY. IT SEEMS LIKE PPL IN CALI DONT LIKE PAYIN CUZ THEY DONT KNOW HOW 2 MAKE THEIR MONEY BACC ANYWAY. GOOD LUCC EVERYBODY.LOL

When Looking For Features I Really Would Do Research As Much As You Can To Track Any Form Of Viewing/Downloads/sales Possible For That Artist(S) Say You Want Ya Boy On A Track His Last Released Track May Of Reached 20,000 Views And Say 4,000 Downloads For Example But You Need To Shoot For Atleast 5-10% Of Those Artists Downloads And That Could Be Successful Way Of Balancing Artists Fee To The Outcome Of The Sale OF Your Feature On Your Project!! Now More Times Then Not Is No Successful But Those Are Some Guidelines I Practice!

Even if someone independent dished out 10 to 20K on a collabo from a major artist still would be a bad investment due the major artist taking the money & leaving. The independent artist / label does not have the power to push it like a major would, therefore it would fall flat.

Unless that major artist / label took it & pushed it and broke you as an artist, but then again, if that was the case you wouldn't need to dish out any cash to get on LOL!

It's a two way street, but most (especially independents) have the mentality of getting off at the next exit once their paid.

BASICALLY WHAT U SAYIN IS U GOTTA PAY 2 GET ON. MAYBE U DONT ACCEPT IT BUT ITS PART OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING.LOL.WHATS WRONG WITH A PERSON TAKIN MONEY AND LEAVIN?? I THINK THATS HOW EVERY HETEROSEXUAL BUSINESS DEAL GOES DOWN. THERE ARE PEOPLE WITH MONEY OUT HERE. JUST LIKE THERE ARE BROKE PEOPLE. EVERYBODYS MINDSTATE AINT THE SAME. BUT PROFESSIONALS DEAL WITH MONEY. MUSICIANS AND ARTISTS CHARGE 4 GIGS. ITS NOT A NEW THING. U CAN GIVE UP ON THE HOMIE LOVE THING.THAT ERA'S GONE.
IVE PAID SOME ARTISTS 4 FEATURES AND IF IT FIT IN MY BUDGET IN 2012 I WOULD PAY AN ARTIST 2 DO A SINGLE. I WOULD PAY 4 SOME UNIVERSAL PRODUCTION AND NOT JUST WHAT WAS HOT IN THE HOOD. OF COURSE WE ALL GET FREE BEATS AND FREE VERSES AND SO AND SO FROM OUR LOVED ONES OR RANDOM PEOPLE WE MEET OVER THE INTERNET, BUT LETS KEEP IT REAL AND JUST SAY THAT KIND OF QUALITY WILL NEVER GO PLATINUM AND IS NOT REALLY WORTH MONEY CUZ NO MONEY WAS INVESTED IN IT. LIKE I SAID THERES 999,999,900 RAPPERS TOSSIN AROUND INFORMATION AND TAKIN UP SPACE WITH THAT SAME FORMULA. THEN THERES ABOUT 100 WHO ACTUALLY HAVE A SOLID MOVEMENT AND ARENT JUST WISHING ON A STAR. IF HALF OF THOSE PEOPLE WOULD HAVE STAYED FANS INSTEAD OF BECOMING A CANCER 2 THE BUSINESS BY TRYING 2 COME UP AND EVENTUALLY BECOMING A HATER, WE ALL MIGHT BE EATIN.LOL. IMMA KEEP IT SIMPLE....I DONT KNOW ANY "TIGHT" RAPPERS WHO WOULDNT CHARGE SOMEONE WHO THEY DIDNT THINK WAS TIGHT OR ON THEIR LEVEL. THATS THE WAY THE GAME GOES. 1

what ever artist have good record sales..you want someone featured on your album that has a good fan base already..its like i like awaxs music, if hes featured on your album and its a song i never heard before im gonna buy your album jus to hear a new track from my favorite artist feel me..its like u dont wanna pay for a feature and dont even break even with the money you spent on that artist..cant really name who isnt worth paying for cuz each artist has thier own individjual fan base and some dont even have none at all..but shit tay your the artist himself that folks should be paying for, better beats and the mafioso flow and its a wrap..

No, nobody has to pay to get on. If Dr. Dre got at somebody he doesn't turn around and charge to put anybody on. And what's with "heterosexual" statement? That's not even in the equation.

Like most have said in here, nobody is worth paying in today's independent game unless your signed to a major & doing some big numbers.

thats the point of paying for a feature. you want some one with a resume so you can try and tap into their fan base. thats why Master P got C-Bo on "TRUE". he didnt have no one on that album but his artists and Bo. he wanted the fan base. look at "Amerikkkas Nightmare" by Spice 1. it only featured 2Pac, 40, and Method Man. he had a descent budget. it was the golden era and he was on Jive, he coulda got some other guest artists but he pretty much had it covered in the west with 40 and Pac, and himself. thats where a majority of his fans are. then he got Meth (at his prime) for the east coast, where he was obviously tryna tap into. Jive invested the money in that album. Spice distributed money accordingly in order to produce the best album and best return he could for him and Jive. its business. spend money to make money, but spend it wisely.

I agree with this, but like you've stated... it was the golden era. Unfortunately with the decline of Cd sales, the power of downloading for free & the economy that doesn't exist in today's world.

SO WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF ON?? BERNERS FORMULA HAS BEEN MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN ANY OF THE PEOPLE IM DEBATING WITH. IM NOT SAYING IM ALWAYS RIGHT BUT FROM MY POINT OF VIEW ITS ALWAYS BEEN A HUSTLE. WHEN I FIRST STARTED FUCCIN WITH C-BO HE WAS MAKING $8000 A SHOW SO ITS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT MONEY IN MY EYES.MAYBE SOME PEOPLE NEVER SEE IT HAPPEN SO THEY DONT BELIEVE IT CAN. SIMPLE AS THAT.
