Timmy has higher potential

Cain is better now but Timmy has better stuff.
lol,,,,the fact of the matter is........

Timmy has better stuff....Cain has better long term potential................Timmy has a greater chance of breaking down........Cain has a strong body, classic pitchers frame.............

one game tomorrow......i take Lincecum 10/10 times...........long term: Cain will be the better pitcher

From Yahoo:

Prospecting
John Bowker, SF, 1B/OF – The Giants have hit the second-fewest home runs in the league. Its first base position has produced a .785 OPS, ranking No. 22 in the league. Its left field spot has generated a .675 OPS, good for No. 26 in the league. Its right field has generated a .728 OPS (No. 24 in the league). You see where I’m going with this … At Triple-A Fresno, Bowker, who played at least five games for the Giants in ’08 at each of the positions mentioned, is one of only two players still in the PCL with an OPS above 1.000 (1.033). He’s also one of three players with 10-plus home runs and steals (13/10). Oh, and he’s fourth in the league in walks (41) … and he’s hit five home runs in his past seven games. A former third-round pick in ’04, Bowker will turn 26 on July 8. Last season, he fared as well as you could expect in his 111-game rookie campaign with the Giants – .255 BA, .708 OPS, 10 HR. All of this is to say, I’m really not sure what the Giants are waiting for. His current production and age scream for another shot.

if we can get something fair for sanchez then yes. if not hold on to him. when he gets his command back his value will rise and he will be a solid number 3 pitcher.

I hear ya but who the fuck wants a pitcher that's 2-9 with control issues. He is like Zito, stuck with us.

nah hes not like zito. zito is older and has an untradeable contract. zito also isnt a strikeout guy.

records dont mean that much for pitchers, so 2-9 for us could be 7-4 for the yanks or red sox.

the fact is that sanchez is only 26 and has great stuff, he k's people all day. despite his lack of command he is pretty resilient and gets out of jams and recovers from mistakes fairly well.

i dunno what his issue is, but i think he'll figure it out in the next year or two and be a good pitcher in the bigs
