the only reason why the dodgers went out and got thome was so the giants wouldnt go after him and acquire a new bat.

That makes no sense seeing how the Giants could have made a claim on him before the Dodgers could because the Giants have a worse record.

The only team that wanted him was the Dodgers because they are the last team that could have claimed him.

its not like hes an everyday player. split the time or try him somewhere else, im sure he could handle 3rd. i did see him practicing in the outfield when we were shorthanded out there.

but really they could just share time, even half a game then sub if needed. the non starter for the day would be a nice pinch hitter to have instead of fred lewis.
