ishikawa is alright where he is now, id say enough first basemen, besides ishikawa theres aurilia, bowker, and sandoval who bochy has started at first base a couple of times so i wouldnt mind trading jesus guzman at least until he gets called up again and show what he can do.

Guzman and Velez up, Bowker and Downs to Fresno...

I think Bowker will be back in August...don't like Velez coming up though, would have preferred Rohlinger because he can play multiple INF positions...

agree, i was looking at rohlinger's stats last night wondering about him.

lets see if guzman has adjusted and matured since his first call up.

at least velez is more proven than downs, maybe he will do somethin, he did have previous lightweight success in the bigs.

Tonight's lineup:

Torres CF
Winn RF
Sandoval 3B
Molina C
Renteria SS
Guzman 1B
Velez LF
Uribe 2B
Lincecum P

------------------

That's one of the weakest lineups I've seen all year (offensively and defensively), probably only behind the first game after the ASG...

Yup. But Bochy needs to shake the lineup a little. Too bad his experiment has to be when Timmy's pitching.

8:31pm: Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus says the Indians received LHP prospect Scott Barnes and a player to be named later in the deal. Barnes was the Giants 8th round pick in 2008, and has a 2.85 ERA in 18 starts with High-A San Jose. Baseball America rated him the Giants' 9th best prospect coming into the season.

8:22pm: Ed Price of AOL Fanhouse is reporting that Giants have acquired Ryan Garko from the Indians. Garko, 28, was hitting .285-.362-.464 in 273 plate appearances coming into today, playing mostly first but spending some time in the corner outfield spots.

Even though Barnes is only in high A his stat line looks pretty good, it looks like an even trade so far...i wonder who the player-to-be-named-later is.

Garko should be a good upgrade over Ishikawa at 1st, he can hit left-handed pitching and is under control thru 2012

victor martinez. haha. but we would have had to give up a lot more...i guess it isnt that bad considering we only traded a single a prospect pitcher and a player to be named. definitely better than ishikawa but still not the BIG bat we need

willingham hit a grand slam today, but id say go after sanchez. just trade for him while he is in town
