Donovan is talking out of his ass. He thinks that Tech influences himself, that rap and hip-hop are two genre's, and that rap came about in the 70's. George Clinton and Afrika Bambaataa helped shape the sound, but it was still rooted in FUNK. It wasn't until the early 80's that hip-hop/rap started to take shape through The Sugar Hill Gang, Grandmaster Caz, and Grandmaster Flashes efforts to bring the new sound to the forefront of popular music.
besides the talking out of my ass, thats pretty much what i was trying to get accross, i never said they were two genres i said one influences the other, and in my opinion, tech wouldnt have redone his favorite 80's songs into a rap song if he thought it to be a masterpiece or flawless...he also puts a lot of opera in his shit too, he puts everything in his music, but what im saying all along is that i doubt techs bumpin it in his benz...

I like the history of things. Music history is a wonderful thing to study.
no doubt

rap/hip-hop is what captivated my ears...

but music in general is what I have been raised to respect and appreciate as a whole, which in turn gives myself and others alike a better understanding as opposed to those that limit themselves to just one genre
