Unlike previous years, officers quickly herded several hundred black-clad protesters out of Seattle’s business district, using a choreographed rolling blockade of bicycle officers and vans to shuttle cops in riot gear ahead of the crowd to cut off escape routes.

Before the night was over, the protesters had been marched out of downtown and into the city’s Sodo industrial area, where fewer targets for destruction were available. Officers at times doused demonstrators with pepper-spray and fired “blast-balls” to control and disperse the crowd.

One protester complained publicly Monday.

“I’m pissed off at SPD,” said Mohawk Kuzma. “They blatantly violated our First Amendment rights. We hadn’t done anything yet and they set up a line of riot officers at Fifth (Avenue) and Pine (Street) blocking us from downtown. They wouldn’t let us go where we wanted even in a peaceful manner, and they corralled us four miles out from Westlake, basically treating us like cattle.”

lol @ being named Mohawk
And lol @ "we hadn't done anything yet"

Wait is it? I've walked from around Safeco there quite a few times and from Westlake to Safeco isn't super far walked that a bunch too. Although the Safeco area would kinda be around the halfway point between Westlake and there. I guess breaking it down like that just made it not seem as much lol

I typed the wrong Westlake lol... Yeah its way shorter

Thinking about calling out sick for tonight, just eating a bunch of abv and chilling out on a 3day "weekend"

If ever there was a time worth calling out it'd be now
Hell yeah man if you got some sick time/pto however ya'll do it go for it. I usually make sure to always have 3 days banked in case I actually get sick but usually I let it get up to 6-7 days accrued then use a couple.

Just called out now way in advance so they can start looking for someone for tonight

Going to call at 9am too just to make sure i don't somehow get a nocall noshow cause someone forgot to pass it along
Hell yeah. If you'll still have 72 hours call out two days in a row knock it down a little. Make it look even more real "yeah man couldn't even get out of bed the first day, terrible"

Actually I just never say shit if people ask if I'm feeling better I just reply with something like "yep I'm here" lol

I'm like kurt cobain i should start doing heroin

Early '93:
“I’ve been suffering from chronic stomach pain every day of my life for six years now. I’ve been to about eight different gastrointestinal doctors and it’s always been diagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome.
Imagine the worst stomach flu you’ve ever had, every single day. And it was worse when I ate, because once the meal would touch that red area I would hyperventilate, my arms would turn numb, and I would vomit. I was suicidal on our last tour. I really wanted to blow my head off. And so when we got home I decided to do heroin every day because obviously a heavy narcotic is going to stop the pain. "
———————————————-
“My body is damaged from music in two ways, I have a red irritation in my stomach. It’s psychosomatic, caused by all the anger and the screaming. I have scoliosis, where the curvature of your spine is bent, and the weight of my guitar has made it worse. I’m always in pain, and that adds to the anger in our music. I’m grateful to it, in a way.
I tried everything I could think of: change of diet, pills, stopped drinking, stopped smoking. Nothing worked, and I just decided that if I’m going to feel like a junkie every morning, vomiting every day, then I might as well take the substance that kills that pain. That’s not the main reason why I took heroin, but it has more to do with it than most people think.’
———————————————-
Late 93’:
“My stomach isn’t bothering me anymore. I’m eating. I ate a huge pizza last night. It was so nice to be able to do that. And it just raises my spirits. But then again, I was always afraid that if I lost the stomach problem, I wouldn’t be as creative. Who knows?
