I'm told the 2016 #PBConESPN debut, delayed from January to April, has been pushed back again. No shows until June at this point. #boxing

Chavez Sr. BLASTS Son On Facebook For Lack Of Discipline
Posted by Jeandra LeBeauf on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 · Leave a Comment

For Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. having privilege and access to best life has to offer did nothing to instill the work ethic that made his famous father a boxing legend.

In recent years, to say the ups and downs of the sometimes super middleweight have been well documented would be an understatement. By virtue of a famous name, Chavez Jr. has been allowed to skate through boxing garnering generous paydays for subpar performances. Adding fuel to the proverbial fire are the entitled, brat-like post-fight antics which include berating referees and posting big checks from Haymon Boxing on social media and suspensions for marijuana usage.

It’s not a Chavez Jr. fight promotion without a rousing game of “Guess Chavez Jr’s weight” or a myriad of trainers coming and going who believe they are the one to get him back in line.

In recent weeks, Chavez Jr. has been reportedly “focused” and adhering to a strict diet while sequestered in the Big Bear, CA to train for a yet to be finalized super middleweight title fight showdown against WBC champion Badou Jack. To get him ready, he’s enlisted the help of Robert Garcia and Ricky Fuñez to take turns at the helm to help him prepare. Not one, but two qualified trainers brought into camp to reign in Chavez Jr. but it appears whatever game plan they’ve concocted is still not getting through to him.

Now retired from the ring, whenever Chavez Sr. appears as an observer or broadcast commentator, still invokes the same excitement an awe in fans as he did in his fighting days. Watching along with the public at the self destruction of his son the loving parent wants to continue supporting his name sake but the champion is fed up. Late Monday night, Chavez Sr. took to social media to air out the dirty laundry surrounding his son’s current training and fight preparation. Frustrated at his son’s lack of focus, he poured his thoughts into the following Facebook message:

Provodnikov on Terence Crawford: I Want To Get My Title Back!
Updated at 10:38 AM EST, Thu Mar 3, 2016 Read More By :

By Ryan Burton

BoxingScene.com recently reached out to former WBO 140 pound champion Ruslan Provodnikov (25-4) in the wake of Top Rank CEO Bob Arum's recent announcement that he would like to match his fighter Terence Crawford (28-0) against Provodnikov in the summer.

Crawford just successfully defended the same 140 pound title on Saturday when he stopped Hank Lundy in 5 rounds in a HBO televised main event. Provodnikov said that he is very interested in facing Crawford and revealed that he hasn't ever been offered a fight against the Nebraska native.

"Of course I want to take my title back," said Provdnikov who said he didn't watch the fight. "I'm interested in the fight and I have been interested in facing him for a while. I was not offered the fight for February."

Provodnikov hasn't fought on HBO since last April when he lost a razor thin decision to Lucas Matthysse in an exciting fight. He took a stay busy fight in Monte Carlo in November after scraps against fighters such as Brandon Rios, Jessie Vargas, and rematches against Matthysse and Bradley were turned down by their handlers.

Even with the difficulties in securing a big fight, the native of Russia has stayed positive and believes a big fight is right around the corner for him.

"It's a little frustrating but I believe that if the networks and my representation want a fight to happen it will happen, so I'm not blaming the fighters," Provodknikov told BoxingScene.com.

Glad people are seeing Canelo's diva ways. On top of this, he made some infuriating comments yesterday, essentially saying he doesn't think the fight will happen this year but will "some day" but what really struck a nerve with fans is him saying that he "will not give concessions to Triple G" as if Golovkin is the one making some sort of catchweight demand! If they fight, it will be a middleweight unification fight with three middleweight belts (WBC, WBA, IBF), four if we count The Ring belt (in this case being the lineal belt), and yet Canelo has the nerve to say that he would be giving Golovkin "concessions" by fighting at the regular weight?! Then this ginger cunt said he's fighting Khan at 155 pound catchweight because Khan wanted his middleweight belt, implying that if not for Khan, he would have fought Khan at a lower weight (like the regular 154 pounds).

He tried to reason all this by saying he has given his opponents concessions all of his career, referencing the Mayweather fight and Cotto, which is funny because with Floyd he went down two pounds, not FIVE that he would be demanding Golovkin come down and with Cotto they fought at 155 pounds, aka the Caneloweight class, the weight he always fights at. He also said hey, it took three years to make the Cotto fight (straight up lie) so therefore it's ok if it takes 2-3 years to make the Golovkin fight (which obviously makes zero sense especially considering Golovkin is his mandatory and Cotto-Canelo was never a mandatory fight).

tl;dr
Canelo is full of shit, doesn't want to fight.

By concessions Canelo means money. Lets not act dumb here. GGG isn't bringing shit to a ppv and has never taken risks both in and out the ring to be asking for so much. And as far as the Instagram post, the Perro fight was a non-title fight that shit always happens. Canelo's resume show's he took nothing but risks to get to where he's at. What has GGG done besides get amped up by HBO? Even they are starting to sit back on that mother fucker.

lol he wasn't talking about money he was talking about weight, which is why he kept saying "I'll fight where I'm comfortable". Stop making shit up to fit ur agenda.

Canelo has gotten better opportunities because he's a red headed Mexican obviously. Golovkin tried to fight Sergio Martinez who rejected him. He tried to fight Cotto who rejected him. He tried to fight Dmity Pirog who pulled out. He tried to fight Ndam twice who didn't even show up to the purse bid twice. He tried to fight Felix Sturm when he was on top for over two years. He tried to fight Carl Froch who declined. He tried to fight Andre Ward two years ago who declined. And Chavez jr.

So, what has Golovkin done? Consistently gone after the best fighters and dominated the top ten of his division, which is all he can do until someone like Canelo grows a pair.

Blah! Blah! Blah! He could have fought Quillin but decided to sign an exclusive contract with HBO. He accepted step aside money from all these other fights that were being made. If he cared so much, he should have done none of that. If he's willing to accept a stripped belt right now, then he should have accepted it along time ago. He's being hella protected not Canelo. Canelo jumps ship on networks and fought all the feared fighters in the jr middleweight division. He made it happen no matter what. GGG didn't and now he must wait

Did you see Cotto's face afterwards? Did you see the 12th round? Did you see the fight in HD or did you stream it? All pixelated and shit. Canelo showed what he does best. He's a boxer/puncher and Cotto had no answer. Cotto went back to his old style from time to time and went in head first and was getting caught with some vicious uppercuts. But yeah, whatevers.

You're in idiot battle. Quillin was offered a fight with Golovkin BEFORE he moved over to Showtime and the network feud started. And of course, Quillin rejected it. He literally said he wanted "Mayweather-Pacquiao money" to fight Golovkin.

What's funny though is you were loving Pacquiao's exclusive HBO deal. But now since it doesn't fit well with defending Canelo it's an excuse lol. Canelo and Golovkin fight on the same network.

He got over a million from Cotto because Cotto threatened to drop the belt, so here we are. Canelo doesn't want the fight.
