No a lot of people out here hated them too. Rap was much more regional then and not just in sound. A lot of rap fans didn't like shit from different coasts or down south, etc than where they were from.

Playing screwed music in the late 90s outside of Houston/Texas had had people being like "yo whats wrong with your tape/cd?" lol most people did not like it.
