Good god, my entire apartment smells like a rotting corpse because I left the lid of my trash open all night, and had the packaging from some chicken breasts sitting in there. You know that little pouch thing that absorbs water or blood or has guts in it or who the fuck knows what purpose it serves. Holy shit man I gagged when I walked in, this is BAD lol

The UltraZapXtendaPak active pad includes additives that produce carbon dioxide (CO2), an inert gas known to have bacteriostatic properties. Moisture from the packaged protein is absorbed by the UltraZapXtendaPak cellulose pad, which then produces a steady stream of CO2 gas inside the package.

Ohhhh. So that's what people always meant when it's said grocery store meat has added CO2 to maintain the freshness and keep meat looking colorful and vibrant. I didn't realize it was right in front of my face I thought it was some other process or something behind the scenes lol. Well now I know what those little pouches are, and what purpose they serve....
