The question isn't who will win out of a Bush or a Clinton. The real question is how many of you will vote (that can vote) and how many will vote for someone other than a Republican or Democrat aka same song....

thats what I thought
I would totally vote for an independent or non-dem/repub candidate if it actually made a difference and they had a chance at winning. The unfortunate reality is that they don't stand a chance, so I'll keep voting for the Democrat candidate as they are the "lesser of two evils" in my opinion.

voting outside of the two party system is pointless. too many people that will never vote outside their preferred side . so if you're not going to vote for one or the other, you may as well just not bother voting at all.
I understand what you're saying, at the same time this is only true because we allow it to be. Granted, the popular vote does not decide the election, the electoral college does, however, the electoral college usually aligns with the will of the populace. Mainly why people vote along party lines is because either they are not an informed voter or play the lesser of two evils line (voters who purposefully vote against their registered party lines would be considered outlier points of data and do not make enough of a difference in the overall count). The average voter spends almost no time researching potential candidates and their political histories and platforms. It is a vote of convenience, not confidence. We cannot rely on the school systems, government branches or biased media outlets, overrun with republicans and democrats, to educate and inform the voters- they want the voters to vote republican or democrat. All real change requires struggle and overcoming obstacles, and it never occurs overnight- history proves it. Third party politics is not new it has been relevant and present throughout, minimized by republicans and democrats.

I always say, if you're going to vote, don't stick to one party and vote for their candidate blindly no matter what. Look at each individuals' platform and what they each bring to the table...
I agree. I didn't mean that I only vote for Democrats, just that in the presidential elections I've been able to vote in (since 2004) the Democrat's candidate has always been more appealing to me than the GOP candidate. I identify mostly with a candidate like Ron Paul, but would rather just vote for the Democrat to keep a Republican out of office.

I only do that for president though, for all other elected positions I vote as you suggested.

No, no one outside of the feminists wants a first female president.

BTW, here is what the so-called first black president did for non-whites
(economically regressed non-whites by ~25 years)- but I'm sure it's Bush's fault since he doesn't care. For the record, I hate them both.

so yes, you are right their skin doesn't matter only their politics and corporate agenda

I vote locally and statewide. In my opinion you still have a say in how things can turn out in those two places by voting. Well, to an extent at least.
You really believe that? So peep this, Nutt, what has voting done for Detroit? All those people there voted but what exactly did they get?

And voter ID laws?

Locally and statewide you're still taking part in the charade and the corruption is just as bad.

This is 2014, I thought people knew voting was absolutely obsolete.

Voter ID laws are a crock of shit for sure.

I've seen what voting locally in my city and state can do (mostly initiative wise admittedly) but I do think that local and state officials do play a role in how things can turn out locally and statewide as well. To an extent as I said.

We will have to just agree to disagree and I always respect your opinion and input. If you have any good reading I can do on arguments on how it's obsolete on a local and state level please share them. Thanks breh.

Jeb Bush's son, George P. Bush, is a future ringer

Texas Land Commissioner

Bush is also a co-founder and on the board of directors of Hispanic Republicans of Texas, a political action committee whose goal is to elect Republican political candidates of Hispanic heritage to office in Texas.

No, it's pretty much the entire process. It doesn't matter if it's a two party system or a two hundred party system. It doesn't matter about an electoral vote. The FACT is we aren't a democracy or republic but a hegemony, oligarchy, plutocracy and corporatocracy.

And WHO they voted FOR doesn't matter. Marking an x next to a name, or punching a hole next to a name, does nothing but let them know how many sheep are still ready to be led to the slaughter.

To anyone who endorses voting I have a couple of simple questions to ask:

1. Do you believe voting is an investment in your future? If so, where is your return on investment?

2. Do you believe the Elite of this country, and those abroad, will allow the average joe to decide the leadership of the richest and most advanced country in all of history by marking x or punching a hole next to a name?
