But if u have to fumble around with how to word it, like "there were some...uhh...you know... Some young african americans"... Or u start pointing to the black dudes arm insinuating the people were of the same skin color... Thats what not to do.

That makes sense. I never really use race when describing situations/telling a story unless it's very imperative to it somehow. It rarely is.

I've heard people throw in "this Chinese dude" or "that Mexican woman" etc etc into the most general of conversations where what they were talking about didn't need indicators like that and it's always pretty
to me.
