I misunderstood what you were saying and edited that out shortly after you were writing your response. I was referring to after he signed with Haymon, not before.
No problem. However, there is conflicting info when it comes to what happened after he signed with Haymon. What has not changed is the 40% increase that has been put out there.

All three parties have to be involved in working out the details, money, terms, etc. The email was an agreement for the basic principles, which the three parties to agree on. From there the legal documents have to be written up, lawyers, managers, etc, it's not just that simple. For example the same time line was with Kovalev and his deal as he just inked up his contract with HBO last week (the same time Stevenson would have)
Again, they all agreed via email. Then HBO gets the paperwork and sits on it for over two months.

What I would expect from you since we go way back is to simply own up to a mistake and simply say, "my bad, I was wrong about a couple things I thought otherwise" rather than act immature about it. You made a couple false claims, I showed they were false, and you come at me with you're a hater. This is downgrading yourself to the level if a bigface or a poster like that. It's not even a significant point (me picking Stevenson as KO of the year and Fighter of the year runner up), iit's not even that serious to act in that kind of manner.
Bro, I didn't make any false claims (Edit, you are talking about me claiming you hate Stevenson?) Is there anything false here?

Agreement was made.
HBO sat on the paperwork for at least two months.
Stevenson hires Haymon to renegotiate.
They present it to HBO.
HBO declines.
Per the contract they are free to shop and hit SHO.
SHO gives Stevenson what he wanted.
Stevenson then goes BACK to HBO so they can counter.
HBO passes.

And like I said, the links were not working at the time so let me click on them. I have NO PROBLEM saying I am wrong, so if you said it let me look.

Broner: I had a minor setback [against Maidana], I’ll be back on May 3rd

Carlos Molina Broner Molina Broner vs. Molina adrien broner By Dan Ambrose: Former three division world champion Adrien Broner (27-1, 22 KO’s) wants his fans to forget about his loss to Marcos Maidana from last year in December, and focus instead on his upcoming fight against Carlos Molina (17-1-1, 7 KO’s) on May 3rd on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Maidana fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Broner would have been better off facing Amir Khan or at least a viable opponent for his next fight instead of Molina, who is one of Khan’s leftovers from 2012. The little 5’5” Molina was halted in the 10th round by Khan after taking a frightful beating, and Molina hasn’t been seen since. For that reason alone, Broner should have told his manager Al Haymon and/or Golden Boy Promotions to find him someone else.

Having him fight a guy like Molina puts Broner in a situation where he’s going to look silly for fighting Molina in the first place, and he could look even worse if Molina extends him for the full 10 rounds. If the fight turns out to be a competitive one then Broner will be made to look like a fringe level fighter, because Molina isn’t a top tier fighter at 140.

“I had minor setback but I am back on May 3rd. Everybody needs to understand that I just took a loss. I haven’t lost it,” said Broner. “I’m still “The Problem” and anyone can get it, whether you are African, Puerto Rican, Dominican, Cuban or Mexican.”

Broner should have insisted that he be put in with someone good or else be left off the card. Having him stepped back all the way to a fighter like Molina looks like someone who was put back in the wading pool because he showed that he couldn’t swim with the bigger children. It makes Broner look really bad. Amir Khan doesn’t look that great either being matched against a Luis Collazo, but at least he has a ranking in the top 15.

Molina is just some little guy with no power that Golden Boy Promotions dug up two years ago go to give Khan a sure thing win two years ago in their fight in December 2012. With Molina not having fought since, Golden Boy is digging him up again this time for Broner. It just looks really bad.

Man, it was less than a month, not over two months:

On Jan. 23, Kovalev promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events and Stevenson promoter Yvon Michel of GYM agreed via email to the terms and the revenue splits between them.

The next day, the two got on the telephone with Peter Nelson, the director of programming for HBO Sports, and the threesome agreed on the financial aspects of a deal. It would include Kovalev facing Cedric Agnew, a bout that will be held on HBO in Atlantic City on Saturday, and Stevenson meeting Andrzej Fonfara on May 24, with Stevenson and Kovalev then meeting in the fall.

Not long afterward, Stevenson officially hired Al Haymon Feb 19th.(Yahoo sports)

So that's less than a month. The announcement Adonis hired Haymon was on the 19th, meaning the must have been in talks prior to that as well.

Like I said before man, as soon as Haymon was announced his manager everyone started saying the Kovalev fight wasn't going to happen. And look what happened. Haymon tried to strong arm HBO in overpaying for a tune up and took his ass straight to Showtime.

I am going by badlefthook reports, Dan Rafael and other sources. There were multiple sources saying HBO had the paperwork for two months. Even before the paperwork and email he has always said he wanted to be paid what he is worth and it is now obvious that HBO was not willing to pay him what he is worth. Showtime saw it differently so if both Hopkins and Stevenson get wins you'll see a unification bout for the big three belts. So yeah, the guy is ducking even though he is setting himself up to unify the fuckin belts and fight the number one guy in the division. And again, HOPKINS said Kovalev "took the easy way out" and didn't fight him. Keep that in mind.

And here is Stevensons guy saying there was a multifight deal on the table, they took it to showtime to see what they could get and then they went back to HBO to see if they would match (as tStevenson and team were legally bound to do so.) HBO then declined. Blame HBO.

And now more info is coming in.

He said an agreement was reached with the Kovalev camp for a 60-40 split of television revenue and a 70-30 split of the gate (both in Stevenson's favour), but Stevenson's side felt the offer made by the HBO specialty channel wasn't enough.
WBC champ Stevenson laughs off Kovalev challenge as he prepares for Fonfara - Brandon Sun

Knowing what HBO offered will help clear things up. Both sides (Steven and Kovalev)were ok with the percentages but Stevenson was not cool with whatever number HBO put out there. Again, blame HBO.

Bad left hook eveb reported that HBO would only do the deal if Stevenson guaranteed he would fight Kovalev next. Thats Bad Left Hook, Yahoo and Boxingscene all reporting the same exact thing. Stevenson / Haymon didn't take it.
That is not what BLH and Yahoo originally reported and I already posted the yahoo article yesterday.

ETA: I am now reading that HBO offered him a 3 fight deal, including the Kovalev fight, for $7 million.

I just posted BLH and Boxingscene on the last page, both from yesterday:

: Bad Left Hook also reported that a deal breaker in the negotiations, something that Michel’s statement didn’t note, was that HBO wanted a guarantee that Stevenson would box Sergey Kovalev before airing Stevenson’s next bout.

From boxingscene:
HBO’s concern over securing rights to the May 24 bout stemmed from a reversal in its previous negotiations. All parties agreed to the license fee that was assigned to the fight. However, Stevenson’s camp approached the network to ask for a rumored significant increase, without the assurance that his next fight would in fact be against Kovalev, should both fighters win their upcoming bouts. And I posted the stuff from Rafael and Stevensons team that simply state it was about money. We already know they previously agreed to fight. That is a fact. Now it is coming out that the things were in favor for Stevenson but that the dollar amount was still too low. Now the figure being reported was that HBO said 3 fights, including Kovalev, for $7 million.

What we do know is that Stevenons guys and Kovalevs team agreed in email. What we do know is that Stevensons man said they had a MULTIFIGHT deal offer. What we do NOT know is if it is any truth to any assurance of the Kovalev fight. To be honest, if he already agreed to fight him, why would he not give them a guarantee? Money?

Blame HBO.

Is it a good deal if they are fighting for pennies?
https://mobile.twitter.com/Main_Events/status/449337184068599808

Read this conversation between Duva and Stevenson promoter. Look at the end, he's talking a PPV! If the plan is to have Hopkins vs Stevenson on PPV they are either lying or making a big mistake. Bhop is a good draw on regular HBO or Showtime but his PPVs do poor unless it's a mega star like Oscar or Tito.

Anyways, obviously HBO wouldn't pay "pennies" to Stevenson to fight Kovalev, HBO pays top dollar for big fights
