I have already had a test thats worth 25% of my grade, and its 2nd week back - over material they expected us to study on Christmas - New Years break, like we have nothing better to do.

Sounds normal, stop being a bitch and do the work.
It's a fairly small class - we each get certain readings each week and we have to present the data in them to the class and write a paper on them, try and generate some discussion with the class about them. We will also have to do presentations on a paper we write later in the term.

Classes sucked, but at least for me, grades could not mean less, and everyone basically got a 4.0. And you only lake classes for the first couple of years, unless its something your interested in, then its all research.

Please tell me this wasn't directed at me?
No, you studied the brain. That is very interesting imho.

Mac Jesus studies dinosaurs and digging up ancient rocks, that in its own right is interesting.

I probably have the least interesting stuff at the moment.

I think of liberal arts as like mastering in theater, and art.

All honesty what do you want your focus to be in? What part of ancient culture, or region?
I'm working on ways to deal with a lack of stratigraphy, and lack of bone/organic materials in the archaeological record of the Canadian Boreal Forest.

For Archaeologists stratigraphy and organic materials are important because it's how we date things. Because of this problem in the Canada's boreal forest region (oilsands area) we still don't have a concise culture history of the region - which my methods can help with.

To me it's cool because no one wants to try and tackle this problem and so little to no academic work has been done there so I'm going into uncharted territory and actually contributing to something. Most people want to study hella over studied regions of the world and got nothing new to say, really.
