So I got I grabbed a 40 inch 1080p LED Phillips TV for 300.

Now I see target has 40 inch Magnavox for 200 same specs.

What is the general consensus? Keep the Phillips or get the Magnavox and same some loot?

I should have worded it differently, Vizio buys Samsung displays from a third party distributor. I still remember a couple years ago when I bought my last TV the Vizio's on display at the store actually had stickers on them that said "1080P Samsung Display". I was like "wtf" lol that's what made me look in to it years ago.

Kind of like how you open up a Sony Playstation 3 and see a Toshiba hard drive in it even though Sony and Toshiba are big rivals in the electronics world. Sony don't make hard drives so they buy them from a third party.

That's kind of why I like Vizio, at least they don't buy bullshit. Their TV's actually look great and they're affordable. Probably why they've been the number 1 TV seller in the US for a few years now.

I'll probably still stick with Samsung though for my next TV lol
Vizio isn't bad picture wise. They just don't last. I mean you might get lucky and get it to last a while. But their repair rating was horrible. It's gotten a little better. You're right about the screens. Sony, samsung and vizio all use the same panels on certain size tv's. The panel is only one part of the tv overall though, so it doesn't mean a ton in the end.

Phillips has been the better brand for years. Even when they had the Phillips/Magnavox brand, those were still better than anything Magnavox did on their own. My dad has a led Phillips, it's clean. It'll probably last you longer I would guess.

there were some good deals. I came up at WalMart yesterday. The store I was at had 50% off of stuff that was in the add like ps3 games, dvd's, and stuff like that. So for instance, NBA 2k14 was 40 on sale, after midnight. I bought Dead Island, Mass Effect 3, Tomb Raider and another game I forgot about for $5 each after all the sales. They also had 7 pack Hanes crew neck shirts for $1. I bought like 5 of those, shoulda bought more.

It's mostly horrible because there was a huge recall on their stuff but they replaced those for free. But if they were the same price, everyone would obviously prefer a Samsung.

They did the video game/blu-ray/dvd shit stupid this year at walmart. Instead of fighting people for the shit they made everyone stand in line go into a little section like 15 people at a time to get what they wanted. I copped GTA5 and a few other games but I missed out on Tomb Raider and copped a few others I missed from Amazon Lightning deals. It was boring and organized.

all those black friday tvs are straight junk. it used to be stores just put their shittiest tvs to clear stock. now they actually source shitty suspect parts and have even shittier tvs made just to bop ppl on black friday. lol dorks

and beats headphones are straight junk too. the people who think that shit sounds good are probably the same type of people that listen to music playing from their tinny cell phone speakers thinking that shit sounds good

Bestbuy here in Phoenix had the 55'' LG LED TV's for $500.

I was gonna cop one and decided not to. Read reviews on it online today and people complaining about the Tv's being 60hz and not 120hz like advertised. I noticed the box they came in had no mention anywhere on it about whether it was 60hz or 120hz but the display sign that showed the price of it by all the boxes was claiming it was 120hz

The dude at the store said LG made these specific TV's just for Bestbuy's door buster sale for Black Friday. He said they didn't sell fast like the thought and a lot of customers were returning them.

So since I don't know too much about electronics I ask... Is their a big difference between 60hz vs 120hz?

The thing is u just gotta get the tv that u want, not the cheapest one possible

When i bought my tv, i got a vizio but the nicest vizio they had...im saving money by buying a vizio as it is, im not gonna be a cheap ass and buy the crappiest one because its cheaper. I shoulda mentioned that, that buying the cheapest tv possible is not a good idea with any brand

My pops spent like 400 something on the cheapest sony lcd they had at costco without researching it, and it sucks. I think its a 60hz (hz isnt the only thing that matters like ppl think, but its def something to consider while researching) and it has just a dark n cloudy fuzzy picture. I didnt hate on his tv tho

I like vizios, but i have to say the cheapest model one they had was wack as fuck lol the picture wasnt terrible but i would never fuck with it, the material around the screen looked like the black/grey plastic on the back end of a 1991 box tv... Vizios are kinda like hyundais, they didnt used to be all that great but theyre making some nice products now. But u do have to find the tv you really want. Check all the prices on all the tvs esp on black friday sales bc they always advertize the cheapest ones to get attention, but alot of the time theyll have your brands' whole lineup of tvs on sale for the same percentage off. Treat yourself dont cheat yourself nigga.

The little beats dock speaker thing they have at at&t is decent but way overpriced... But their ear bud and headphones suck ass, they trick people into thinking "wow thats so clear" because of that wierd hollow sound like ur in a small room but with less echoing, idk its hard to explain. Theyre so stuck on the "wow those are clear" gimmick that they forgot the bass...

If ur trying to spend bread then get bose... Nuff said
