Walmart did $446+ billion in sales/revenue in 2012 with a net income of $15.7+ billion while providing their workforce often with <40 hours, no benefits for part time employees, while paying them a less than liveable wage. If you are upset about people being on the govts tit, then you should be against employers such as walmart manipulating the labor force while they continue to reap record profits.
Walmart's revenue compared to what they pay employees is completely irrelevant. Employee applied to Walmart and agreed to the wage presented upon hire plain and simple.

If they didn't like what was offered upon hire they could have left and applied elsewhere.

You don't get hired, accept a wage, then say "this is bullshit". People need to take accountability for their decision to take the job in the first place.

Hey bro it's alright, don't worry, we actually pay for the stuff they can't afford like health insurance, food stamps, and other govt assistance due to none livable wages on a huge scale so don't worry about it. Walmart will be okay before they finally go belly up and not have to pay for it, we will.

When low wages leave Wal-Mart workers unable to afford
the necessities of life, taxpayers pick up the tab. Taxpayer funded
public benefit programs make up the difference
between Wal-Mart’s low wages and the costs of subsistence.
This public subsidization of the low-wage model of
companies like Wal-Mart received significant attention in the
early 2000s. With wage stagnation, income inequality, and
federal budget deficits of increasing concern to public policy,
this issue is due for a re-examination.

Accurate and timely data on Wal-Mart’s wage and
employment practices is not always readily available.
However, occasional releases of demographic data from
public assistance programs can provide useful windows into
the scope of taxpayer subsidization of Wal-Mart. After
analyzing data released by Wisconsin’s Medicaid program,
the Democratic staff of the U.S. House Committee on
Education and the Workforce estimates that a single 300-
person Wal-Mart Supercenter store in Wisconsin likely costs
taxpayers at least $904,542 per year and could cost
taxpayers up to $1,744,590 per year – about $5,815 per
employee.

But yeah damn people straight to hell for speaking up and taking action about wanting to be paid livable wages by giant corporations that can afford to do it but lets you and me keep paying for it instead my friend which we will continue to do.

Blame your Government for allowing Walmart to pay unlivable wages and no benefits if you gotta be mad at somebody. Walmart is following all their rules and regulations.

When do people get held accountable for being stupid? When do they get held accountable for saying the simple word "yes" when the Walmart hiring manager said "you start next week at $8.20 an hour".

People walk in to these jobs knowing where they got hired, they can be a fucking grown up and take responsibility for their terrible decision.

Who said I don't?

That's cool, how do you like picking up the slack for it with your taxes? Bro, even if what I posted was off by half a single store in one state is costing it's tax payers $500,000. You don't see a problem here? You are paying for it, I'm paying for it, so I guess it's okay with you from your post. Walmart (at least right now), and other big businesses can more than afford it, but no lets you and I pay for it. Sounds like a good deal to me too man.

They walk into these jobs usually because they are have families to feed, tend to be uneducated (some while getting educated to get out of there but yeah let them starve in the mean time), come from poverty, and can't find other employment because giant leech sucking corporations like Walmart have driven everyone else out of business. At least they are out there working and trying to get by while I'm sure working at Walmart and at least one other job for a good portion of them. But yeah, fuck those people.

I came from poverty, was a teenage father, and have a GED.

Where they come from is no excuse for taking a shitty job then crying about it later.

The difference between me and a lot of them is, I have drive and ambition to make a better life for myself when doors close. These people would rather cry and strike until they get handed something.

Cool I'm glad you are alright with paying for these people with your taxes seeing the companies they work for don't pay enough for them to get by, not live well, get by. Glad we came to that conclusion.

Anyways I myself have to get ready for work at the peanut factory. See you brehs later. No matter one's stance I'm happy to see people talking about stuff like this because at least they are aware and have an opinion unlike a lot of people in this country.

Everyone be well.

Professional Athletes do it all the time....

I dont necessarily agree with that mindset..you know what this country would look like if everyone had that mentality and that was just the way it was? S--t would be far more depressing than what it is now, thats for sure. If you feel a certain way, you can try and fight or change it...you risk losing, but if you dont try then change will never have the opportunity. That is part of the beauty of this country IMO. I dont know their situation at Walmart, so I cant say how good or bad they have it, which is subjective anyway. With that said, I also wouldnt sit here and say the employees are wrong for trying to push for "better" wages, benefits, etc.

I've never set foot in a Walmart and I'm willing to bet 75%+ plus of their patronage are people that are in the same situation with their jobs (or lack of job) as the workers at Walmart.

Kinda a cool circle of poverty driven consumerism they have going on there right?
It's also about where u live. Lots of Walmarts are located in Buttfuck, USA where there is NOTHING but a giant Walmart. That's where you go to get shit, no real alternative without travel. You don't see a Walmart in downtown Seattle cuz it wouldn't fly. But put a Walmart in Monroe and it's the biggest store for miles.

Walmart's the only spot where I can find a sixer of Jack Cola lol
What the fuck did you just fucking say about Wal-mart, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

Never said I was "alright" using my tax money to pay for their services, but I'm not going to raise my blood pressure over it either.

Until our Government stops coddling Walmart by subsidizing their employees Walmart isn't going to change, plain and simple.

Much worse problems in the world right now to worry about over the pennies from my check that goes towards coddling people who make shit decisions in life.

You're more than welcome to join their cause and picket outside with them though....

My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It’s just common sense.

lol when i lived in goldbar they were talking about putting a walmart in monroe. everyone was fighting it, none of the small businesses wanted it there, it was a big deal. last time i was out there like several months ago they were building a super walmart. i bet theyll destroy all the small businesses there no matter if the locals dont support it, cause everyone headed through the passes for skiing snowboarding travel to eastern washington will merge from highway 522 to highway 2 and see the signs. also monroe is like the pitstop if youre headed down or back on highway 2. walmart wins again

Why is that the alternative? WalMart doesn't pay them what they say they need, so taxpayers have to pick up the slack? At what point are individuals held accountable for their own decisions?

what businesses does Wal Mart destroy? theres 3 Wal Marts where im at and none of them have killed or have the product to kill any small local business. the only thing they got sewed up is the version of Levi's jeans sold exclusively at Wally.

i always see that Wally kills small businesses but i dont see what kind of businesses it can kill.
