Walmart's revenue compared to what they pay employees is completely irrelevant. Employee applied to Walmart and agreed to the wage presented upon hire plain and simple.
If they didn't like what was offered upon hire they could have left and applied elsewhere.
You don't get hired, accept a wage, then say "this is bullshit". People need to take accountability for their decision to take the job in the first place.
Have you ever heard of profit sharing, stock purchase plans, etc.? The execs get these types of benefits, so the revenue is not completely irrelevant. I receive these from my employer in my industry as well as other great benefits.
While, I do not disagree with your statement about the contracted agreement of wage accepted, that does not mean workers do not deserve cost of living and merit increases as well as have the right to strike or create a union for workers rights and a living wage. Without unions, no one in this country would have the worker rights they do have (that corporate lobbyists are always trying to remove), they were all fought for by unions. If you think employers just felt like taking care of their workers out of the kindness of their hearts you are sadly mistaken and I suggest you educate yourself on the matter.
