It's really hard to believe that he waxed Daniel Ponce de Leon a few years ago and people were thinking maybe PDL is done and that fool is in much better shape than Lopez right now.

I don't think Gamboa has regressed at all BUT he has moved up in weight, has had way too much inactivity. If you think about it, he wasn't beating guys that the world was shocked that he beat or anything. He is what he always was. I still think he could have some highlight reel knockdowns against guys and all that but he's gotta step his activity back up and fight with a little more abandon to perform like he used to. He's just more cautious it seems like.

I disagree. I mean some of it could be ring rust definitely but he's not fighting like the Gamboa of old. He ran through solid opponents like Salido, Solis, Mtagwa, and Ponce.

His last couple fights no combination punching just 1-2 shots at a time but it was his combination punching and his explosiveness that made him a bad ass.

I agree 135 isn't good for him because he has very short arms. He really should be at 126 or 130.

Gamboas to big for 130 now, he just needs to get more comfortable at 135. He can still be aggressive but don't be reckless so he has more stamina at the end of fights

Mickey vs Gamboa is a good fight. I would give Mickey the edge because to me Mickey is the real deal very good boxing skills. Gamboa has looked like crap and he's not getting any younger. It looks like he has no gameplan and his punching power is not as good at the bigger weight.

He's shot. He might as well retire, lol@how he was looking when the ref waived it. Nigga was still in la la land. Also, Crawford was impressive as well. For a defensive fighter he took some shots he should not have but he was still impressive. This was a good night of boxing.
Crawford does have some good skills. But does Top Rank have anyone for him to fight at 135lb? Crawford needs to fight Burns but we all know Burns will duck.

He seems to still have that same explosiveness to me but in my opinion, it seems like the time out of the ring has changed the style of fighter that he is. Also, I wonder if training with Mayweather had anything to do with his one punch at a time style? His style has changed, there's no question about that. I think he could still be that style of fighter but activity would definitely help. You gotta remember that he was fighting a buttload of amateur fights then fought very often as a pro up until a couple years ago. Who knows the effect that had on him.

My boy Mikey Garcia holdin it down......

Looking better each fight.

Anyone else heard Garcia/Matthysee might be on the Mayweather/ Canelo card??

That would draw huge numbers!
i've seen that rumor tossed around but nothing official but i agree that fight on the undercard is huge! and the budget is there but im sure showtime would love to have that as a headline fight its a big fight. they have alot of options for the undercard khan, ortiz, mares etc i hope at least one of those names is on the undercard.

There is absolutely no chance of garcia vs matthysse on the Mayweather card. All the money is going to the main event so you'll probably see stuff like Mares or Santa Cruz.

Also, Garcia still hasn't signed to fight Matthysse! Oscar keeps talking about Maidana vs Matthysse it seems like GB doesn't want to make the fight.

Well that Mayweather/Canelo card is gonna sell bucu anyway so an undercard wont really affect it that much in my eyes. Also Im sure it will be Maidana/Matthysse as Im sure Garcia doesnt want no parts of Matthysse. I would rather see Maidana/Matthysse actually because it would be a more competitive fight. On the other hand I would love to see Garcia get knocked out though lol. Got Em!!
