I think they are referring to his choice in beats as being versatile, because his content hasn't changed much over the years.

What I don't get is how some cats will call this song horrible, but praise a song like Bass Chaser...Now that song was by far one of Mitch's weaker songs.
always skipped bass chasers on USS...

and just to add to the convo...its not about riding along with an artist throughout their career just cause you were a fan in the beginning...its either you like the music/their direction or you dont...simple as that...

how many of you still bump doggystyle? i bet you all went and picked up that snoop lion too huh? case closed...

Who said you did? I think people are misinterpreting what I'm saying. Of course you can stop listening to an artist if you don't like the direction they seem to be going or dislike a song they put out but you shouldn't hate on or slander an artist for not making the music you want them to.

The point is, 90% of westcoast rap music is pure trash and I'm talking about the last 4-6 years. And there you have Mitchy, one of the hardest and best rappers on the Westcoast for atleast 10 years now. I quit listening to almost all other Westcoast Rappers and now I witness the route Mitchy is heading so thats a big disappointment to me, as a fan of his music.

All this reminds me of C-Bo.
Unfortunately traditional west coast gangsta rap/G-Funk isn't what sells bro. People got tired of it years ago the market for it is really small nowadays. If any west coast rappers hope to make a career out of rap they can't be so one dimensional with their music.

wasnt directed at you bruh...i shouldve worded my shit better...basically i dont agree with that mentality some cats have...like some cats saying they go out and buy 2 copies of the new e-40 album even though its garbage, just cause hes from the bay though, you know? i will never understand that..

Oh ok all good..I've done that a couple times already in this thread...that's an interesting point tho..I guess I could see why they would do that just to support a local artist but at the same time if you don't like it you shouldn't buy it it kinda defeats the purpose when you won't listen to it anyways

This def ain't as dope as Urban Survival Syndrome (my fav of his), his old mixtapes or the new one with DJ Fresh.

huge Mitchy Slick fan but this prolly my least track of his that he ever done. Still, I am liking that album wit dj fresh.

Loved this track on that USS, such a sick beat ne Mitchy kills it. Gimme a new album wit those kinda beats again and id be stoked.

just imagine if Snoop came out with a dope ass g funk album out of no where tho. that shit would change the game instantly imo. just gotta find those producers that still make beats like that. 93'-95' Daz Dillinger and DJ Pooh come to mind. ill even throw in Dam Funk in the mix. i get goose pimples thinkin about those 3 producing an album together. no homo

J-Box from France made an epic g-funk remixes album featuring the likes of Snoop, DPG, Warren G, Nate Dogg, Cube, DJ Quik, MC Eiht, Suga Free, Too $hort, K-Ci & Jo-Jo, 2pac, Bone Thugs, Big L, etc... I guess they all gotta reach out to all the Euro funk producers... Theyre perhaps the last to make that vintage g-funk sound with those style of beats thatll take ya back in the 90s...

That's a good point...it's hard to say how that'd be received considering the route he's been taking especially after becoming Rastafarian and a reggae artist making songs like "No Guns Allowed" that alone might affect the impact it has..either way I wouldn't mind a new Snoop album with Battlecat, Fredwreck, and them

To say g-funk doesn't sell is like saying Dom Kennedy isn't dope. I think he sticks out like a motherfucker compared to the newer westcoast cats, and he's become very marketable. But I think Mitchy fans don't want to hear this cuz they don't want Mitchy to slip like Jayo. but Mitchy still got it if not better, just get that FMTP and he's still one of the best in the west

G-funk does sell but to a much smaller market than it used to. How many G-funk artists are really in the game right now aside from some of the older generation west coast artists? I'm not familiar with Dom Kennedy's music besides maybe 1 or 2 songs that I didn't like so I can't speak on him but I do know he has a pretty solid fan base. Yea I understand where everyone's comin from I know a song like this wouldn't thrill most of his day 1 fans but he's still got a lotta stuff to drop don't count him out yet.

I do too. Anything's possible. I remember last year on Twitter he said he was talkin about doing a Trigeration Station 2 (I think Cricet had tweeted him about doin it or somethin along those lines hopefully he sees this and can verify) with him but I'd have to see if that's still a possibility

SDC Kid @SDC Kid put yourself up on Dom, that's Mitchy's dude too! I'm not counting out Mitchy at all cuz I believe FMTP is very solid. But he's worked with the best and if he can get those cats that gave him the best cuts, Cricet, Uno, Muggs, DJ khalil, DJ Fresh, in one album? Shit would hit the fan. He's the only MC I can think of that can pull it off
