Finished watching the Friday the 13th movies(up to Friday the 13th part 8).
The acting was not the greatest in some of the movies but they are iconic movies. From the setting, sound effects and the Jason theme. I had never really seen all of the movies from the beginning and been really into slasher Horror movies lately. 4/ 5 for the series.

Saw Promethess in 3d, not a bad film, but I was hoping the writers tried to be a bit creative and get the alien to talk and explain some things in detail.

But yeah so they wanted to wipe us out and start a new race...cool

fuck you alien guy

i havent finished the session by watching 3 yet, i havent seen the movies in quite awhile so i needed some time to let it marinate after a 6 1/2 hour session of I & II lol.

somethings that are really resonating with me right now was how different the first movie was from the second, and how much michael has changed during that time. it seems in the first movie he killed the corrupt police chief and sollozo out of necessity. he wasnt neccessarily an evil man at that time, just a family man who had to do what he had to do to avenge his father and protect his family. but after apollonia (fuckin hot as hell by the way) gets killed he turns into a paranoid sociopath monster. i mean just one example that i can think of right now was how in the first movie you start off right away with this huge sense of family, everybody is laughing and its feels really good, music going people laughing and clapping at his sisters wedding. his father Vito had shit proper. in the beginning of II we see michael with the senator at his sons party and frank pentangeli is wondering where the hell the italian music is, he wants to drink and dance and clap because hes accustomed to how vito has had things. by the end of the movie michael is fully transformed, hes paranoid, he has destroyed his family completely with his greed and the pursuit of power. its just a stunning contrast and its really heavy. its such a drastic change and im not ready to watch 3 yet, ill give it some time, because i know 3 is pretty heavy as well.

anyway i could talk about the movies for quite awhile and theres not enough time so ill leave it at that for now
how you dexcribed this describes breaking bad pretty well too. the whole 1st half of what you said matches breaking bad to a T lol.

Finally got around to watching this, not a fan of it. 1/5

I think he did a poor job on representing the story of the Ronin and the pace of the movie was a bit slow. The action scenes were nothing special aside from a 5 minute segment near the end. Most of the time there is a 5-1 advantage and they go in 1 at a time and scream.. Grab a spear or something or all of you charge him..

I think he could of done a better job to get the viewers emotionally attached to the characters, especially when making a movie about the last years of the Shogunate.

hmm not sure why it doesn't work, but it's 13 assassins
this one of the best samurai period drama in a long time
and it seems people do not understand mentality and the way how samurais fought (beside if you watched all the classics the fights are made exactly the same way like here) but well to each is own i think that movie is very good
and btw the main character is not a ronin :lick:

The story is losely based on the ronin.

The movie started off good but then was missing something through the middle.

^^^^^^^^
this movie is not based on that story anyway but a remake of 13 assassins from 1963, and director used original script from '63 and secondly movie from 63 was based on a novel with the same title so u will need to blame author for such a weak writing :p
and as in the book he is not a ronin but a samurai anyway
even if middle drag a lil bit the final battle scene is epic and easily making up to it

I didn't say he was a ronin, I said it was losely based on the story of the ronin. The 63 version is also losely based on Sakuradamon.

it's not, its based on the novel and this is big difference imo and its a novel not biography so any actual facts does not really matter

and yes u did say he is a ronin

I think he did a poor job on representing the story of the Ronin
