I share the sentiment that a remake is unnecessary. However, I am a little curious to see how it might turn out. Worst case scenario: The remake blows and we still have the original to enjoy.

I will say this... The U.S. remake can't possibly be as bad and as much of a blatant rip-off as the Bollywood version.

its not really a remake since they planning to make film mostly based on manga even more then Korean OLDBOY which took only idea from orginal source. so it really doesnt matter the final outcome if they stick to manga

Word now is that they want Christian Bale to play the villain role in the remake. He hasn't committed to anything post-Batman yet.

Also, Brolin is signed on to star.

I'm not against Spike Lee necessarily, but neither am I particularly excited about that choice. If they're going to remake it, they should get David Cronenberg to direct.
