Well, I'm not going to say its impossible to just change the cable. I wouldnt even try. I doubt you find a mechanic that will just change the cable, when they can order a part that is that cheap and easy to change. 99.9999% they will change the whole regulator. As far as patience and time, were talking about something that isnt any harder then taking the door panel off. But taking it to a mechanic, I'd guess part cost $50-$70, labor if they round up to an hour, probably $150-$175 total.
Alright appreciate the help. Im gonna go try and find one of the regulators today from the wreckers and ill try do it myself

lol hes giong to start talking about how he had to order seven different pieces from across the world, one piece from the moon, and how your vehicle is the only year model that added in some piece that made him take 12 hours to do it, which is why your bill is 600$

lol

good shit dude, wrenching on your own car is the way to go when you can...and the more familiar you get with the mechanics of how thing work together the easier it will get, and you can expand and apply it to other parts and other cars, good luck.

had a look around and couldnt find any used ones, then i came across another problem. i cant find any on the net over here and the one you linked me to is for a drivers side door. cos we do everything backwards down here the drivers side is on the right. so is the USA passenger side regulator going to fit a australian drivers side?

lol ive completely overhauled the electrical system in my car

from a dead battery and dead alternator and frayed barely connected wiring to a brand new battery brand new high powered 260amp alt with 1/0 wiring, and i didnt know shit about cars

its good to work on shit in your car, save a ton of money and learn a lot more for when shit goes bad later down the road, if you have the time to spare

lol, oh yeah...i forgot eveything is all upside down over there...ummm, the right side is the right side, as far as bolts lining up, so yeah, id say the usa passenger would be correct...i wanna say since its a one part regulator it doesnt matter, but im on my phone and dont have a minute to check if its the same part...but i wanna say the usa passenger will be the aussie driver...in the meantime you might want to google "RIGHT HAND DRIVE HONDA WINDOW REGULATOR" and see what comes up, ill check it out when i get home though.

got that shit fixed a while ago but now i have a new problem. the brakes light on the dash is on all the time and i have checked all the fluid and shit and its all fine. the weird thing is theres also a light that tells me when my brake lamps are fucked up and that is on as well. according to the user manual that came with the car these are for 2 different things, and the brake lamp light is only suppose to come on when i push the brake pedal and the lamp is blown. i checked every fucking light on the car and there all fine.

I had to change a headlamp on my wife's 06 Pontiac G6 last week. It's not the typical, reach and twist it out and change the light. Couldn't get to it and was starting to get pissed off.

I stepped back, calmed down & searched youtube. Low & behold I found it & what seem to be looking like a few hours job (from my view, not knowing... trying to figure it out.) I was already going to remove the bumper etc. Ended up being a 10 min. job. And didn't have to do all the extra work I was gonna do.

When in doubt about doing repairs to your car, search youtube is my new motto

so today I backed out of the driveway and as soon as I put my car in drive it made this kind of jerking motion, I kept driving though, but it should be noted I was going downhill, so I was basically just letting off the brake and coasting

at the bottom of the hill i hit a stop light, tried to drive through and my car would not move. I put my foot down on the gas and it just reved the engine. I was able to pull it over to the side of the road. checked the transmission fluid and it looked full. I figured out I could drive it in 1st and 2nd gear and reverse, but nothing above that

I'm thinking it's my transmission... I'm just worried I'm gonna have to cash out a shit ton of money to fix it... what do the car goons think?

The shifter linkage broke or came loose, or part of the valve body is malfunctioning. If you have a new car and jumped another car recently you could have fried part of the computer. But probably one of the first 2, youll have to take it to a tranny shop (no melvin).

...had to get a whole new tranny breh.
Thats what they are gonna tell you meta, Id start looking for used trannys on ebay, or pick-n-pull...

Ive had the same issues before many times, and there have been several causes, vacuum lines, bad ecm, or sensors/solenoids going out. or your transmission is just junk.

@ 925 I haven't jumped a car recently, so probably one of the first 2

I know a whole new tranny will be the most expensive, how about having the tranny rebuilt. That's probably middle of the road as far as the price, right?

And I get your message to breh. Good lookin out folks
