Just saw this on ESPN:

Sheil Kapadia ESPN Writer

Wondering how much help RB Marshawn Lynch is getting from his blockers? He had 42 yards Sunday. According to ESPN Stats & Information, Lynch had 43 yards after contact. In other words, he was getting hit in the backfield constantly. On the season, Lynch has averaged 1.60 yards before contact, which ranks 47th out of 50 players. Whatever he's gaining, he's gaining on his own.

Super bowl losers hangover. I don't know why I convinced myself Seahawks would be an exception.

I just hope they get rid of Bevel. That's the only real change I want. This fucking cock sucker every god damn game first half he tries to make the offense into something they aren't and then when shit hits the fan he finally let's Wilson be Wilson but the defense hasn't been nearly as good this year to win games like that. Just power run and read option all fucking game, its not that hard, it's what worked past three years so why go away from that? Makes no sense. Lets give Lynch the ball only 8 times and have 7 step drop back passes on 3rd and 4 behind this shit oline, fuck yeah! Bubble screen bitch!

Fucky McFuckrson mentioned this as well but the secondary has just not looked the same this year, especially after the AZ game, so I did some more reading up on that.

I was reading an article on fivethirtyeight about the Panthers and the source of their improvement this season and they pointed out Carolina's pass coverage has improved by the fourth largest margin in the league from last season to this season.

Last year our coverage graded out 5th overall while Carolina's was 15th. This year?... We are 15th while Carolina is 2nd.

What's interesting is while it would be easy to blame Cary Williams all of our key guys (sherm, Kam, ET) are grading wayyyyyyyyy down from previous years....like dropping from 6 to 30 (et), 18 to 42 (kam), 5 to 38 (sherm)...meanwhile all our roll players like shead are in the bottom quarter.

It's even more uprising that the drop is both huge and consistent across 3 guys that have been reliably much better their whole careers.

Having said that I think we need to fire Kris Richard as well haha.

Yeah im not convinced Richards is the guy. And funny enough, he was the DB's coach...so its an even BIGGER head scratcher. Like, what the fuck dude? That was YOUR unit. Whoever replaced him sucks balls. But his 4th qtr leads being blown are the biggest concern.

That definitely points to Kris Richard as the problem. But at the same time you just don't expect that from our vets like Sherman and Earl, who know better. Sherman not doing simple jobs on Sunday night was crazy, like that TD he allowed because he was anticipating something else. That's just not something he's done years past. It's a weird situation. I have faith these guys will bounce back because they are super competitive and in their DNA but it may not come until next year after some changes are made.

The dropoff is consistent with the stopping of ped use. Explains everything

Oh i guess irvin thurmond and browner in 2013 didnt happen then lol.
Thurmond got caught for weed: The NFL weed policies are more strict than even the Olympic commission and are bullshit. You could fail a test from second hand smoke

Browner could have got off the same way as Richard Sherman; both the tests were faulty. The team asked Browner to take the suspension, because they didn't want to risk having them both suspended at the same time.

I dunno about Irvin. You're high if you think the vast, vast majority of the NFL isn't dirty as fuck anyway. Half of these guys have "testosterone deficiency" and are on test "therapy" with prescriptions, and they're in their mid twenties. The NFL is big business though

Both were suspended mid way through the season.

And whats your answer for 2014? Thanks.

You're hella sour lately dude. You need to reevaluate your life big time.
The drop off of performance is consistent with the effects of stopping the drugs

Performance is dropping off because we've been using the same defensive schemes for like 3 years and the NFL has figured it out; Kam Chancellor has got to go man to man, it's easy to exploit the 3 man zone scheme or whatever it is by sending a TE up the seam. It's been done, what, 5 times this year? Everything else is explained by Sherman and Earl Thomas overplaying and overthinking, the rest of the guys are just worn down from being on the field 75% of the game, and playing more games than any other team in the past 3 years, and traveling more cumulative distance than any other team has in the past three years. Plus Cary.. Cary doesn't need to be out there but there's a lack of depth. Plus Kris Richard is in way over his head, he doesn't have the faith of the players it looks like, and he's failing to adjust and keep the players in the game til the very end.

As for the offense; well when you dump all that money into the QB position and the defense, and try to slap together a shitty line with a bunch of defensive lineman you converted to O-linemen and expect them to be playing at a pro level 3-5 games into the season... it just doesn't work that way.

Seahawks could still hit the play-offs... shit looks grim though.

I don't think it's a drop off after PED use, no way.

Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell recently directed criticism of the team’s offensive performance to quarterback Russell Wilson. And it sounds like one of Wilson’s teammates agrees with Bevell.

Receiver Doug Baldwin said Wednesday that Bevell shouldn’t be criticized for the performance of the offense.

“There’s plays all over the field to get to, but we just don’t get to them, for whatever reason,” Baldwin told reporters, via KJR radio. “And that’s frustrating. I know a lot of people talk about play calling, and that’s not it at all. It’s the execution. It comes down to execution. It comes down to converting on third down and being efficient in the red zone, and that’s passing the ball. And we gotta be better at those things and keep our defense off the field. Our defense was on the field for 40 minutes. People blame the defense, that’s not the defense either. When you got one for eight on third down as an offense, you’re gonna leave your defense out there. I take a lot of responsibility — I would as an offense take a lot of responsibility for the downfall of these games, because we’re not getting to the plays that are out there on the field to get there and we’re also not converting on third down.”

Baldwin then was asked to elaborate on his reaction to the criticism of Bevell.

“Because obviously people who are saying that aren’t looking at the game,” Baldwin said. “You know, they’re not watching the films. I don’t know what film they’re watching if they’re saying that Darrell Bevell’s the problem because, like I said, there’s plays out there and we just have to get to them. And we consistently have been inconsistent in getting to them. And on top of that, there’s penalties. . . . We shoot ourselves in the foot. There’s not much more that Darell Bevell can do. He’s calling good plays.”

While Baldwin applied blame to the entire offense, Wilson is the guy making the reads and throwing the football. If there’s a general issue with execution, perhaps there’s a specific issue with Wilson’s inability to execute.

It’s the closest any player has come to calling out Wilson publicly. We can only wonder what may be happening privately.
