The Seattle Seahawks have signed star safety Kam Chancellor to a multiyear contract extension.

The deal is worth $35 million over five years and includes $17 million in guarantees, a source said...

Chancellor's contract was one of this year's priorities. Over the next couple of years, the team will be looking to extend cornerback Richard Sherman, left tackle Russell Okung, safety Earl Thomas and others.

Really good news. Glad to get one of those players signed to an extension. Kam deserves it.

Seahawks still No. 1 in ESPN’s post-draft NFL power rankings

The Seahawks were ranked No. 1 in ESPN’s post-draft NFL power rankings Tuesday, retaining their spot atop the league from the March offseason poll.

Seattle used last week’s draft to bulk up its already impressive roster with more depth at key positions. (You can meet all the draft picks here.)

Surprisingly, the Seahawks drafted two running backs to join a depth chart topped by Marshawn Lynch and backup Robert Turbin. Yet they also focused on plugging holes on the defensive line — selecting defensive tackles Jordan Hill and Jesse Williams — and got a couple more receivers for quarterback Russell Wilson in wideout Chris Harper and tight end Luke Willson.

That bulking up of the D-line and the running corps kept the Seahawks strong at No. 1, according to ESPN. Three of the network’s five voting analysts put Seattle at No. 1 (John Clayton, Mike Sando and Jamison Hensley), with Dan Graziano and Ashley Fox ranking them third.

Ranked second were the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle’s biggest foe in the NFC West. The rankings remained steady through the Denver Broncos at No. 3 and the Atlanta Falcons at No. 4, though the Green Bay Packers jumped from sixth to fifth, switching spots with the now-No. 6 New England Patriots.

Marshawn Lynch, Seahawks RB, has delay in DUI case

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch won't have a trial in California for his DUI case until December, at the earliest.

Lynch's court date on a motion to suppress evidence in Alameda County Superior Court from his July 2012 arrest has been continued until Nov. 1, Alameda Assistant District Attorney Teresa Drenick told NFL Network and NFL.com.

The delay first was reported by the Tacoma News Tribune. If the two sides cannot reach agreement, there will be a hearing to determine trial readiness on Dec. 27.

The delay means Lynch is unlikely to have a trial until after the 2013 NFL season. Because the NFL is reluctant to impose discipline before the legal process plays out, the Seahawks probably won't have to worry about losing Lynch to suspension during the season.

Lynch previously was suspended three games in 2009 after he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge in Culver City, Calif.

Hella glad about this. Get to see Beast Mode in all 16 games, plus post-season games as well.

But who to keep in my keeper league now. It's either Beast Mode or Cam Newton. They both did significantly well for my team last season. And I was fortunate enough to draft both with my first two picks. Don't think that'll happen again this season.

SEAHAWKS!!!
Damn, single game tickets sold out in 1 minute. The cheapest ticket to the Niners game week 2 is $272 + tax (regularly $50). Glad I got season tix a couple years back. If tickets get up to $550, I'll sell mine ($55 ticket). Pay for all of next year.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll acknowledged Thursday that Percy Harvin may need surgery to repair the tear in his hip labrum.
The injury happened while Harvin was working out on his own. Harvin will get a second opinion next week, but early signs appear grim. "When you spoke to people this afternoon about this injury," ESPN's Adam Schefter said, "they sounded concerned." The second opinion, in all likelihood, will confirm Harvin's need for surgery. Carroll is typically pretty vague on injury situations, but he was revealing in this case and we don't take that as a good thing. Should Harvin miss regular season time -- and that's now a very real possibility -- the Seahawks' three-receiver set would be Sidney Rice, Golden Tate, and Doug Baldwin.

:siccness:
Who cares about the last two years we're talking about the most recent game which is the most relevant. Why would I care what they did two years ago when Tavoris Jackson or whoever the fuck was QB before Russell Wilson.

Also this is a SEA thread not a bears thread.

Lol look at this shit, i bet davis gets a concussion next time he even looks at Kam:

Seattle's secondary rapes SF so bad it's not even funny. Even im the first game of the season when Wilson still had his training wheels on 49ers couldn't pass for shit.
