Round 1: Nas - illmatic vs dr. Dre - the chronic

I like It Was Written better because it has a more modern and professional sound. I don't know if it's the better album though.

Its just my personal preference.I know its not the consensus or even considered an all time great album. But i find myself listening to it was written tracks more often the illmatic tracks.

This was a tough one but im not surprised the outcome. While Nas' album is one of the best freshman efforts by an MC, its very cerbral and gritty....not everyone can get into it's sound. And this is a very west Coast biased board, so that doesnt help it.

That being said, i have far more memories to Dre than i do with Nas.
