99% of the labels(100% of the majors) dont even open unsolicited demos...they just throw them away or they throw the packages around like frisbees in the mailroom.

Throwin out these names and addresses aint gonna be nothing but a waste of time...half of these people don't even work at the adresses that are listed.

You can not get on the bus unless you go to the bus stop.
What he's sayin ain't hype....you need to be heard, to get heard with most labels...if they ain't heard of you, they most likely aren't gonna listen to you. I think he was sayin that demos that are sent unsolicited don't even get opened most of the time.

I consider the people on the list very fortunate and blessed because they're doing what I wanted to do. About 2 years ago "my dream" occupation was to become an A&R in the future but realize it was gonna practically impossible for me to accomplish with the way the music industry is.
My name couldve ended up on that list...jus wanted to get that off my chest lol.

EPK's and what I call branded email packets with links to online samples, pics, info etc...when doing business or soliciting for sponsors most large corps only except EPKs and/or emailss linking them to press kits, media kits etc.

A&R's at labels have no job security whatsoever....at publishing companies like ASCAP, BMI, Universal and Warner/Chappell, it's a lot better but your job is riding on how much money you make the company in most cases...

Thats exactly what I meant when I said, "the way the music industry is" I realized the A&R position is hard to get and even harder to keep. I love music and that was my main attraction to the job but the reality is A&R is probably one of the hardest and most unsecure positions to obtain in the industry.
