There's obviously been a grip of re-makes lately and usually they aren't as good as the first. What are some that are better than the original to you or movies you want to see get re-made?

I want to see an Outsiders remake for some reason. It'll be hard to top that cast of the original but I think the story is tight and the original looks like it was a made for tv movie.

I heard they are remaking Point Break which already sounds awful.

I'd love to see a remake of the movie Rad from the 80's.

3:10 to Yuma and Cape Fear were some dope remakes that were better than the original, but i'm not sure if I should really count those as they both came 30-40 years after the OG and with all that time pretty much became their own movies.

Hard to really support remakes of movies I saw in theaters like Point Break, doesn't feel like it's been enough time even though it's been 22 years.

The Ring, The Thing, The Hills Have Eyes, Cape Fear, Dawn Of The Dead, Ocean's Eleven, Scent Of A Woman, 12 Monkeys, Scarface, The Fly, True Grit

Would like to see a remake of Cannibal Holocaust, and I think Eli Roth is currently filming it. We'll see how that turns out.

Good point infamous. After a certain point it's almost as though they aren't remakes. Like Scarface for instance. 3:10 to Yuma was dope to me. I've heard a lot of people talk about True Grit but haven't watched it.

Damn, Point Break was 22 years ago! I'm getting old.

roth is doing cannibal movie yes, not cannibal holocaust remake tho

The Green Inferno (2013) - IMDb

it would be stupid to even remake it, since all of the italian cannibal movies follows the same plot with minor differences (group of white people gets lost in the jungle and in the end, cannibal tribe eats em)

Well, it's not like the Psycho remake, but an "homage", or a "re-imagining" of CH is a remake to me...

The new The Thing movie was fucking horrible. John Carpenter's version with Kurt Russell is excellent.
I disagree. Firstly, it wasn't technically a remake it was a prequel. Secondly, I thought they did a pretty good job capturing the same kind of eerie feel that the 80's version did. Although the CGI didn't compare to the creepiness/nastiness of the 80's.

In the end I thought they did a pretty decent job doing justice to The Thing and it being a prequel didn't fuck up the story at all.
