I ain't even mad. The UFC is giving people a fight they would rather see. Nobody gives a shit about Bader. Combat sports are about generating revenue by putting on entertaining fights. Always has been. Boxers have gotten title shots coming off of losses for decades.

Personally I'd rather see DC vs. Gus. If Bader was winning impressively and not being booed out of the arena like he has in his last few snoozefests he might have been somebody people want to see. The UFC isn't obligated to put somebody in a main event just because they got 4 wins lol look at Bisping, dude has been in the UFC for a decade and had numerous huge win streaks.

I agree with that. but UFC needs to chill with acting like their rankings hold so much weight.

Bethe Correia and Conor McGregor are the most recent fighters to get title shots cus of talking. Correia's is more of a story line.

naw Gus is cool on the rankings. I just think they're fucking the LHW belt. I don't even like the fact that DC got the title shot. shoulda been a tourney to face Rumble. but it woulda took months to get a winner, plus months for the contenders camp. Rumble woulda been just sitting there collecting dust. its a fucked sitch.

Bellator's Mike Richman tests positive for performance-enhancing drug, suspended two years

Not only was Mike Richman significantly overweight for his last fight, he also was allegedly on performance-enhancing drugs.

Richman tested positive for a banned substance on the night he fought Eduardo Dantas in the co-main event of Bellator 137 on May 15 at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif., California State Athletic Commission executive officer Andy Foster confirmed with MMAFighting.com on Tuesday.

Sherdog initially reported the news.

Foster is not legally able to say what substance was found in Richman's drug screen, but Bellator confirmed it was a performance-enhancing drug. Foster said Richman will be hit with a two-year suspension and the maximum $2,500 fine. Richman will have the right to appeal.

Richman (18-6) was more than three pounds over the 136-pound bantamweight minimum the day before Bellator 137. The fight was nearly called off until Dantas eventually agreed to take the fight. Dantas, the former Bellator bantamweight champion, ended up beating Richman by unanimous decision.

Richman, 29, was coming off two straight wins, including a highlight-reel knockout of Nam Phan at Bellator 131 last November. The Minnesota native is a former United States Marine.

Fernando Gonzalez also came back positive from Bellator 137, but Bellator said it was just for marijuana. It was Gonzalez's second offense and Foster said he would be fined $1,500.

"Andy Foster of the California State Athletic Commission has notified us of two positive tests following Bellator 137, Mike Richman for PEDs and Fernando Gonzalez for Marijuana," Bellator said in a statement. "We've been informed that these fighters will be subject to suspensions and fines. We here at Bellator stand behind the commission 100 percent in this process and remain committed to keeping MMA clean of substance abuse."

Props to Richman for admitting to it and not being a bitch and blaming other people or a "supplement". He released this statement earlier.

In regards to my positive test results for an Anabolic Steroid. I want to say that I lost the integrity in myself and the integrity of this sport. I will not sit here and deny that I took it or act like I didn't know what I was taking or blame it on someone else. I am a cheat, plan and simple and there is no excuse or reason that is valid enough to dispute the reasons why I cheated the sport and myself by using it. I want to apologize to Bellator MMA for my actions. I want to apologize again to my hard working Teammates who are not cutting corners and busting their asses off everyday in the gym to better themselves. I want to apologize to My head MMA coach Greg Nelson for making him and his gym the Academy look bad. He had no knowledge of me using at all. I want to make the same apology to my S&C coach Matt Miller of Horsepower strength and conditioning, he also had no knowledge of my use of this Anabolic Steroid. I apologize to all my sponsors that support me, my family that loves me, and my friends and fans that cheer for me. I deserve every bit of backlash and hate I'm going to receive from the media and the fans of this great sport. I take full responsibility in my actions and the decisions I made. I also deserve the punishment the CA state athletic commission brought down upon me.

say whatever, Bader deserved it. 4 fight win streak, beating two top 10 opponents. doesn't matter of fashion they were beat
I missed this post somehow.

What two top 10's? OSP wasn't top 10 when Bader beat him. His one top 10 win was squeeking out an iffy split with Davis. One questionable split decision don't get you a title shot. The last two top 10 fighters Bader faced before Davis he got KTFO by both of them.

I know you're more than likely pulling for Bader cause your from AZ, but come on man, OSP and a questionable split over Davis?

The reason Bader won't get a title shot is because put him in there with someone like Rumble, Gus, Rashad etc. he'll get starched. He's already shown he can't win big fights. Michael Bisping has had numerous massive win streaks, been in the UFC for 10 years, still hasn't gotten a shot, because the UFC isn't stupid, he's proven he can't win big fights, so winning streaks literally mean shit if he can't win a big one.

Bader's best win in his entire career is that "win" over Phil Davis lol rewatch that fight and tell me with a straight face he deserves to be a World Champion.

I've never been a fan of Bader but his boxing has gotten a lot better lately, he's got some sneaky combos. Don't think he deserves a title shot but he should be in an eliminator since everyone else at 205 isn't looking to great atm

DW's ignorant ass tryda make Schaub look stupid on TV and say he wasn't pullin in the sponsorship money he claimed he was. Joe Rogan basically pulled DW's card on his podcast with Schaub. Rogan verified Schaubs sponsorship money and told Schaub to go head up with DW on the accusation. Schaub didn't want to go that route. he might as well now if he retires. DW needs to cut the shit.

yes, OSP was top 10 in the UFC rankings, he was on a 5 fight win streak as well before Bader beat him. Davis was also on the verge of fighting for a title if he would've beat Bader. 205 is very shallow before and after Jones departure, hes cleaned it out. I'm not saying Bader could beat DC what I am saying is that whats the point of having UFC rankings and winning streaks matter if you're not going to get the next cracc at the belt? DC got ANOTHER shot at the belt coming off a loss, Gus is getting a shot after getting DESTROYED by Rumble.

UFC's a joke.

UFC's a joke.

remember this is the promotion that's giving McGregor a shot after only beating Siver, who wasn't even top 10.

I stand corrected, OSP entered the top 10 at number 10 one month before he fought Bader, and was immediately bumped back out until he TKO'd Shogun. So props to Bader, he beat month long number 10 lol

The UFC has rankings because people on sherdog and the ug cried and complained, plain and simple. You can even go back and see Dana White doing interviews when they instilled the new rankings system that gets voted on by the media, he basically treated the shit like a joke, because it is a joke, rankings in the UFC are pointless and always have been. Fox wanted to put numbers next to fighters names and internet keyboard warriors cried, hence "official" rankings.

Where did you get Phil Davis was on the verge of a title shot from? Dana White clowned Phil Davis repeatedly and it was well known he was going to negotiate with Bellator well before the Bader fight. Phil Davis was no where near a title shot by beating Bader.

You're talking about combat sports like it's black and white when in reality it's a gray area, always has been. Fights that sell go above fights that don't no matter what, been that way with boxing for decades, been that way in the UFC since the UFC has been a thing.

Gus is getting a title shot because when he fought Jon Jones, Jones had to be carried out of the cage by his trainers and carried out of the arena on a stretcher. More media outlets gave that fight to Gus than Jones, Gus was heralded as the uncrowned Champion. Ryan Bader on the other hand got mauled by Jones, tapped out by Tito fucking Ortiz, KO'd by Machida, KO'd by Glover etc. etc. the guy has never shown himself to be somebody that could win a fight that matters. How the fuck are they supposed to sell him as a challenger for the title? DC vs. Bader would probably do Mighty Mouse numbers on Pay Per View.

If Gus gets injured before the fight, by all means tag in Bader, but we have Rashad Evans calling out Bader right now, if Bader can beat Rashad he can finally prove he can win a fight that matters.

Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway were though. He fought Siver because Siver was the only person with name recognition that was available in time to get Conor on the Boston card.

Conor got the Chris Weidman treatment, went 5-0 against some good, but not great guys, knocked off a couple top 10's, and got a shot.

Conor vs. Aldo is probably gonna sell a million pay per views or close to it. Conor finishes opponents. Bader would sell worse than Mighty Mouse and his biggest win ever was a questionable split decision after winning 3 other shitty decisions. Comparing Conor to Bader doesn't really make sense.

Holloway was tough but not top 10. he wasn't a factor until rather recently. at that time, I would compare Holloways status to McGregors status. McGregor would have a bigger problem with him now. Poirier was tough, but not top 5. im not gonna say McGregor was lucky in that fight, but he was lucky that Poirier lightweight ducked when McGregor threw a punch that luckily hit Poirier in the back of the head, which is technically illegal, but wasn't really McGregors fault. the Siver fight was strategic with the UFC, point blank. they didn't want to risk him losing cus they knew he was a good hype. putting him against anybody in the top 5 woulda been a big risk. they mos def coulda booked a top 5. im sure McGregor wouldn't have gave a fuck, but UFC does give a fuck. ive heard a few people at my job mention McGregor and those dudes don't even watch mma or UFC. its not cus of his skill, its cus UFC is hyping him. so im sure it will sell good.

your right about the rankings being shit, that's why its funny when DW talks about the Reebok deal legitimizing the sport. not saying UFC aint legit, but legit sports go by rankings to get the championship.

It's all about PPV buys. Simple shit guys.

Conor sells, and Bader..... Who looks forward to his fights? No one. That is your answer why he isnt getting a title shot. And Gus is the only one to ever beat Jon Jones. How you can complain about him getting a title shot is mind boggling lol.

it aint that black and white tho. if that was the case, UFC would throw a "super fight" with Rousey vs Cyborg. it aint like Rousey never fought at featherweight. she cuts hella weight as it is. that could be one of UFC's biggest fights ever right now. also, assuming Nick Diaz comes back after suspension, why not throw Lawler vs Diaz II? shit would bank. but DW would have to justify that cus its for the belt. im sure DW would love to just give Diaz the fight, but he doesn't want the backlash.

DW use to geese on Strikeforce for signing Herschel Walkers old ass saying it was bad for the sport, but once UFC bought Strikeforce (along with Walkers contract) he didn't rule out Walker fighting in the UFC. he's a hypocrite, time after time.
