Cotto fought him perfectly in this fight. Looks like he took some Pacquiao notes. I was very impressed. Cotto's stocks just went up big time

I think if the fight goes on margarito makes the most out of those last 3 rounds and really puts it on cotto, cottos fuel was running low and he was getting tired from running the whole fight I think if it goes 12 rounds margarito would really have a reason to demand a trilogy fight but props to cotto his cardio was a lot better he went 9 rounds hard but I think the hate he had for margarito really pushed him to another level....

Cotto wasn't slowing down in the 9th he was actually sitting down on his punches and landing some of the hardest punches he landed all fight. His confidence was threw the roof and he wasn't scared at all about margarito landing on him, as they were completely ineffective. Cotto threw 14 more power punches in the 9th than he did in the 8th (31 in rd 8, 45 in rd 9) and landed 23. If anything Cotto started to push Tony back a bit that round and one could argue Margarito was starting to look out of his element as they approached the championship rounds, it was starting to resemble what Mosley was doing to Margarito IMO.

That would be a decent match for Chavez Jr.

A big name, but nothing extremely dangerous.

well chavez is 6'0 with a 73" reach, plus I reckon he'll be around 175 on fight night. So that in itself is an obstacle for Cotto. Plus Chavez has looked a lot better recently, he's certainly improving.

After thinking about it I actually think Chavez jr is a trickier fight for Cotto than Canelo would be, being that Canelo is much closer to Cotto's size and he's not tall and rangy like Chavez is and wouldn't be a problem for cotto to land shots on canelo. I favor cotto over both though, I think both are good fights.

lol @ fighthype.com saying cotto is next for floyd on may 5th now who the fuck would want to see a rican fight on cinco de mayo?!?! smh
It would be a good fight though. Got Em!!

I think margarito was hurt, he just doesn't show it. In the 8th and 9th round Cotto was really sitting down on his punches and it started to look like Mosley vs Margarito. If you recall, against Mosley, Margarito was smiling and laughing the entire time, even when he was knocked down on the canvas. Dude is just crazy. But cotto was landing some hard power shots the last couple rounds and it looked to me as if Cotto was going for the knockout at that point.
Agreed. Got Em!!

Chavez Jr wants to avenge Margarito loss and says negotiations are already in place to fight Cotto.

Cotto is gonna leave top rank and fight mayerather mark my words. Too much money too pass on

I actually have heard people talking about this too.

I wouldn't be mad at that fight, if for whatever reason the Pacquiao fight doesn't happen.

I always felt like Cotto would be a tough matchup for Floyd. He fought the perfect fight against Margarito this time around, and looked great.

Bam Bam Rios should just move up to 140 and fight Maidana. He can't make 135 and be at his best. He looked mediocre against a mediocre opponent on Saturday.
