I don't care, this fight is dope to me. So much history. So much controversy. One of the best fights in the last 5 years. Will Cotto get his revenge? Will Tony chop him down all over again?

I have mixed feelings about this fight, but more importantly it has to happen. I was at the first one. It was the fight I have always been waiting for. When the venue was announced I booked my rooms right away. I was at the front of the line for the weigh ins and sat right behind Margarito's camp. As sad as it sounds this fight and Margarito's win was up there for me (behind the Angels winning the WS, Ducks winning the cup, etc.)

Then to find out he pulls this bullshit at the Mosley fight (I was there as well). I'm all for having an edge in a fight, but what he did took it way too far.

I can't see how anyone can root for Margarito in this fight. There was a point where I could firmly say he was my favorite fighter at the time, out of all the weight classes. I hope Cotto gets his revenge.

I'm backing Cotto on this one.

WOW the battle of the shot fighters. Maragrito is going to retire Cotto. This is going to be a good fight and someone is going to leave with brain damage. 10th round KO by Maragrito..

They were talking about it right after Margarito lost to Shane.
Cotto told the media that Margarito shouldn't be able to fight and he wouldn't assist him in making another penny off his name. The rematch goes back pretty far.

margaritoooooo!!!!!!!!!! haha

hella lookin forward to this fight. due to past circumstances this fight will mean alot to both fighters, which makes it even more exciting IMO.

i dont understand the logic of calling a fighter shot who's only lost 2 fights in his whole career (one to margarito, & one to the p4p best boxer in the world).

thats fuckin dumb.

I'm calling Cotto shot because he got beat half to death by Maragrito with hand wraps, secondly he got beating up again by Clottey, then finally Manny put another beating on him. Looking at the Mayorga fight there is no question that Cotto is not the fighter that he used to be. Cotto is not a elite fighter anymore plain and simple until he proves me wrong by beating an elite fighter. I don't need to discredit Manny this fight with Mosley will prove a lot to me about how good Pac-man actually is. I want to see how Manny does against someone with hand-speed, defense, counter punching, and real knock-out power which old ass Mosley brings to the table.

I don't know why I'm going to waste my time but not being as good as you once were doesn't mean you're a shot fighter. Is bernard hopkins a shot fighter at 46 years old? Hell no. But clearly he isn't as good as he was 7-10 years ago.

Cotto is a solid fighter. He's not as good as Floyd or Pac or even Martinez, that doesn't mean his isn't a great fighter or elite fighter. I would favor Cotto over most names at 147-154 like berto, canelo and angulo for example, and the guys he really struggles with are the giants of the division like kirkland and martinez, but that's mainly because cotto is fighting in a weight class too big for him.

Bigface, your definition of "shot" means someone who lost or took a beating. Everyone is shot according to you! A shot fighter is Castillo, who's fighting in a couple months. Or Erik Morales who's fighting Maidiana. Or David Tua. Or Roy Jones. Or Holyfield. Those guys are shot. Being on the down swing of your career but still capable of beating most opponents doesn't mean you're shot.

Do you qualify zab judah as shot? That guy took tremendous beatings in his career. And yet somehow he just got two impressive wins in a row and is a 140 pound champ again. Is he shot? Or just not as good as he once was?

Mosley is a good example of a shot fighter.... He just can't pull the trigger anymore. That was proved in the Mayweather fight.... his reflexes are gone.

Yall both have valid points. I actually don't know if Cotto can compete with the better fighters anymore I have my doubts. This fight will with Margarito will tell a lot. Since they are fighting at a higher weight this time maybe Cotto will have a little more pop to his punches and can actually hurt Margarito this time cuz he's obviously a easy target which is the type of fighters Cotto should be fighting lol cuz it seems he has a hard time landing punches against boxers with good movement or a decent defense

I will say it again for you 206 until Cotto beats an elite fighter, he is a shot fighter to me. How can you be an elite fighter but yet you can't beat an elite fighter yourself? So please save me that Cotto is an elite fighter crap. Just like Mike Tyson said on Saturday both Cotto and Mayorga are past there primes. Judah got beat up and took to school by Mayweather, then Cotto beat the brake off him, and damn Clottey beat him up good too. So hell yes Judah is shot to shit.

he could very well be. we'll see. I think that does a disservice to floyd's wonderful performance though. He made shane second guess his punches because he was countering the shit out of him. That would make most men hesitant to pull the trigger.

I don't know what to make of the mora fight though. Either that was shane just looking bad because age caught up with him, or it was because mora was a big opponent who was unwilling to engage in battle. Mosley was definitely pressing the action and was much more active outworking mora, but mora fought like a coward, so I dunno.

I think Mosley is more of less past his prime he really only took a bad beating in the Mayweather fight. But I think this fight with Manny will answer the question of if Mosley is shot or not.
