First to defend Manny. The guy is the #1 PFP boxer right now, no question about it. He has proved it, again and again. From years ago when all I could do was read about his fights before Roach brought him to the US, moving up throughout the division etc. The Marquez fights really could have gone either way, not worried about that. Pac is still #1 in my book due to what he has accomplished since then. I honestly didnt think Manny could move up to fight DLH the way he did. For that one fight, I can admit I backed off and thought he was in over his head, didn't mean I didnt root for him, just meant that I had my doubts.
My post was directed towards Mayweather Sr., you translated it as me trying to take away from Pac, which is far from the case. The camp kept talking about power, size, strength etc and that was their game plan. I dont believe they wanted Hatton to go in there and be Slick Rick and started slipping punches all night. I believe that their plan was to go in there and bully him around and it didn't work. They weren't trying to box him, they wanted to slug.
My opinion...
Pacquiao will take all his opponents and whoop them over and over again, without question. I am simply stating what I believe to be the reason the opponents game plan wasn't a success. Long story short (my whole point), Graham was a better trainer "for" Hatton (not in general). I think he would have lasted more rounds (with the same KO result) with Graham.
