Seattle Seahawks coach Jim Mora has been fired after one season, a source told ESPN.com's John Clayton.

Mora attended a meeting Friday morning with management, at which time he was told Seattle did not win enough games to save his job, the source said. The Seahawks finished 5-11.

FoxSports.com first reported Mora's ouster.

Once Mora was fired, the Seahawks called the Minnesota Vikings to seek permission to interview defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, the source told Clayton.

Mora joined the Seahawks in February 2008 on a five-year contract that called for him to transition to head coach once Mike Holmgren retired. Mora was an assistant for the 2008 season, then succeeded Holmgren.

I mean he fucking sucked, but it was one year. He was brought in a couple years ago to take over when holmgren retired, and after one year he's fired. that's crazy. I didn't think the seahawks had it in them to make a decision like that. Good move

The taking over the coaching job was Ruskell's idea...and since HE is gone...out is his plan as well.

I believe Knapp and Bradley are out as well. Good riddens.

Kudos to Paul Allen for having the stones and pockets to pull off a move like this.

I doubt they're going after Carroll. He's already failed twice in the NFL as a head coach. He was too much of a buddy to the players, lost some respect.

Cowher has REPEATEDLY said he is NOT coaching this year, OR the near future. He is out.

THe Vikings DECLINED the Hawks the opportunity to talk to Leslie.

Carroll apparently says he wants FULL control, which means GM duties as well...we all know how that turned out with the last coach that did that for the Hawks.
