He's well on his way now! Gore is running like he's mastered the rb position hes still got it and maybe better than ever! This is his team and ready to get that ring after all the tuff years!
So its only been a year, and after most said he wasnt, you're now saying...again after only ONE year...he is "well on his way"? What brings you to that conclusion?

Like some other rational folks have said, he needs to have 3-4 more years of 1000+ rushing seasons and a plethora of TD's to get there. Im sorry, but winning SB's doesn't make a lick of difference in how the voting goes, especially for a RB. MAYBE a QB, but not a RB. They are measured soly on production.

he is well on his way. if he has 2 more years like this year (a big if though with RB's shelf life and Hunter and James gettin more pt), he will be in at least the top 15 with a chance to hit the top 10 in lifetime rushing... if he retired today he wouldnt make the hall but would find himself in the Niners ring of honor...

Frank isn't in ATM, but 3 more solid years and he will have a case. Unfortunately he's going to be 30 in a couple months so I don't know it'll happen. Hopefully Niners get him that ring in 2 weeks. Dude still has a lot left in the tank so we'll see what happens.

@ IPIM. You already answered for me the topic came up a year ago a loss from the Super Bowl and here the 49ers are again and Gore like I said has still got it! Look at fiddie s comments....gore hits the whole and makes his yards almost demandingly if there's such a word. And yes when it comes to gore he is a ring away look at his career stats the all time 49er rb, I doubt you watch every single play of the 49ers well I do and that's what im going off gore is the man and improving.
I said last year no w/o a ring pay attention this year I said hes looking for the ring!

What sucks about trying to predict future production on a 30 year old RB is that generally you can't put to much stock into that RB's prior season. The reason being it seems unlike most other positions in which there is a gradual but steady decline once they hit their 30's, a RB seems to just completely lose it from one season to another.

being a cowboys fan, i can say that i've always respected frank gore, from his college career up at "the u" until this day...i know he's undergone multiple knee and shoulder surgeries, so i can respect him for never giving up and continuing to be a hard working individual. with that said, i don't think he gets voted into the hall of fame. but at the very least, being the 49ers' all-time rushing leader he'll always be a 49ers legend, and will more than likely get inducted into their ring of honor. but if he gets a super bowl ring and possibly has 2-3 more productive seasons, then i would say he has a good chance. as folks have previously mentioned, it'll be easier said than done as lamichael james/kendall hunter get playing time and the shelf life of a running back being a factor...

Barry Sanders is the best running back of all time so of course with or without rings he was going to get into the hall of fame. That's like saying Dan Marino proves rings don't mean squat for QB's because he got into the hall of fame without having a ring.

Rings always mean something, especially if you're a crucial component of that team getting a ring. What about if that RB wins a ring and is also the super bowl mvp that has to count for something.

Off topic but last year when this thread was created I mentioned the other current RB I could see getting into the hall of fame is Ray Rice, I think whatever team wins this seasons super bowl will do wonders for the legacy of Ray Rice or Frank Gore.

.
I disagree with this. While the MVP would help, the ring is irrelevant in the tally. Again, QB's maybe...RB's, not so much.
