Manning is one of the best of all time but he hasn't matched up to Brady quite yet. I always judge players and coaches by players around them. Manning has always had the better players around him on offense, and damn near total autonomy on offense yet in his career he only has 1 Super Bowl.

Brady consistently goes deep into the playoffs and to Super Bowls without hall of fame receivers. It was even an accomplishment this year to take the Pats to a playoff victory without Gronk, Hernandez and with a pair of young WRs.

So like I said, Joe Montana > Peyton Manning.
lol, Peyton doesn't have Jerry Rice, John Taylor, and Brent Jones to throw to not mention Roger Craig running over foo's one of the more underrated runningbacks ever. Peyton like i said has still yet to be on a team with a great defense, Broncos defenses had been playing well in the playoffs but still cant be compared to the other best defenses in the league

Jerry Rice is the best ever, I think we can all agree. But the Broncos have a more than capable receiving core and they are pretty damn good. I would say that Thomas is actually better than Taylor. It's a team game, but Peyton has a history of choking in the playoffs.

I stand by what I said... You can say Montana had all these weapons but so does Manning, and what happened? Montana didn't have this many yards in a season or points did he? he also was not as protected, you could hit him anywhere and less chance of a flag. Plus remember, Rice wasn't immediately a beast... Manning has guys who stepped in and performed right away.

it's always going to be a cloud over him when referring to his legacy.
its gonna go like this...
montana, great qb, won 4 rings...
tom brady won 3 rings, great qb....
peyton manning, great qb, won 1 ring BUTTTTTTT....lol
idk to me greatness in the sports world is defined by multiple championships on top of performing at a high level during the season. imo.

Everyone forgets about Bradshaw because they are into all that stat nerd shit these days. There are so many other factors like making big plays in clutch moments. There is so much more to playing QB than just regular season stats. Just look at what happened in today's Superbowl for example. Bradshaw and Montana are the only two QB's who can say they both won four Superbowls and are undefeated in them.

Also, everyone always forgets about Otto Graham! He won 7 out of 10 championships and was clearly clutch and dominant in his era. He even had an outstanding regular season record for all those fantasy nerds out there.

This is why russell wilson is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. After he gets a few more rings ppl will take what I just said more seriously. Consider he didn't even have harvin or rice to throw to this season and what he acomplished.

Russell Wilson for mayor

If he wins two more than we can start discussing the possibilities. It's hard enough to get through the playoffs and win one Superbowl. I did like what I saw from him today even though the Seattle defense took the spotlight from him. He has a lot of work to do if he even wants to be mentioned with the greats. Only time will tell...

Manning is a great QB, but of our time, but not All-Time. He's a stats type QB, but doesn't have that killer instinct to want to win, like Brady. Brady has had some killer recievers with him, yet they get cut that season cuz Brady is like I can win without them while Manning needs and gets recievers and still can't get them the deep ball. He threw for almost 300 yards in this game and only got 1 td!?

Montana was clutch.... Peyton was not and has not been in the Playoffs... Brady lost some Superbowls... twice to the Giants I believe. People keep ignoring the fact of the bigger picture here... SUPERBOWL. That's the whole reason these guys put in the work in the off season, practice, OTA's, training camps, work with specialists and so forth. 10 times out of 10 I would pick Montana, bias aside, I would pick him because he was clutch, cool under pressure, he had something like 30 4th quarter comebacks... not the most but I think that's gotta be up there somewhere. No one is debating his status as a regular season QB, but when it really matters... the Playoffs. As B @battle619 mentioned, best QB of our time perhaps. He needs another ring though because Brady and even little bro Eli have more rings.
