That was dope how the Red Woman brought Jon back after she lost all faith and no longer believed. Exactly like how Thoros ressurected Beric Dondarion.

"I've always been a terrible priest. Drank too much rum. Fucked all the whores in King's Landing. It's a terrible thing to say, but... by the time I came to Westeros, I didn't believe in our Lord. I decided that He, that all the gods, were stories we told the children to make them behave. So I wore the robes, and every now and then, I'd recite the prayers. It was just for show. A spectacle for the locals. Until the Mountain drove a lance through this one's heart. I knelt beside his cold body, and said the old words. Not because I believed in them, but... he was my friend. And he was dead. And they were the only words I knew. And for the first time in my life, the Lord replied. Beric's eyes opened."

and now, he truly knows nothing. Snow will be a hollow shell of his former self; probably will be some scene where he doesn't recognize Sansa when she gets to the wall and it's some sad moment to make people cry n stuff like that, calling it now

“ Can I dwell on what I scarce remember? I held a castle on the Marches once, and there was a woman I was pledged to marry, but I could not find that castle today, nor tell you the color of that woman's hair. Who knighted me, old friend? What were my favorite foods? It all fades. Sometimes I think I was born on the bloody grass in that grove of ash, with the taste of fire in my mouth and a hole in my chest. Are you my mother, Thoros?[17] ”
- Beric to Thoros of Myr

Beric was killed several more times, but was repeatedly brought back to life by Thoros, each time with fewer memories of his life before the War of the Five Kings.

There you go; what I'm saying is the show is going to heavily emphasize that "losing part of yourself" "losing memories" by resurrection pretty heavily for dramatic effect. I'm saying all of the "You know nothing, Jon Snow." was foreshadowing

Yes yes we know Beric is less a man after being revived each time but he died what, 7, 8 times? Plus he is no azor ahai so while we know Jon will be different, we also know there's something obviously special about him.

They probably never did the whole zombie Catelyn Stark because it would cheapen the whole resurrection shit and dampen the whole Jon Snow knowing nothing angle
I was thinking the same. Plus where is that plot line really going in the books? It's kinda weird. If the show brought her back, people wouldn't trip off Jon's death at all and speculate for a year.

They've never really talked about Beric or him being resurrected except for what, like one single episode where Arya stumbled across them in a camp or something? They're going to layer that into Jon's character I think

I don't know why but I don't like seeing Cersei all defeated and the stupid high sparrow trying to punk people and talking about toppling empires and all that. I really hope this is leading towards a showdown where Tommen (well, Cersei), orders the destruction of all these religious fanatics. I know from some of the season previews it looked like it was leading to some type of huge battle. It doesn't make sense that the kings guard couldn't just walk through and slaughter all these fucks. I mean they're some dudes in robes with some maces... take zombie Mountain and a couple hundred armored soldiers and slaughter those fucks

I hope they do even if it backfires and leads towards the people rising up lol

I think a few episodes right? He even met with the Red Woman at one point. I'm definitely sure Jon isn't going to be normal, but I don't know about the whole not recognizing sansa and his family. He's going to be a hardened leader with a purpose, kill the boy and let the man be born, etc

GRRM is big on making them like the Catholic Church equivalent and how they seized power of kingdoms, there's a good video of him talking about it I'll try to dig up.

It's probably his plan then to have Cersei try and muscle him out; that'll probably be the catalyst that unites some kind of epic revolt and was probably his plan all along. I still want to see it though... I like pissed off drunken wipe everyone out Cersei not locked in a tower humiliated humbled Cersei

"The Sparrows are my version of the medieval Catholic Church, with its own fantasy twist,” Martin told EW. “If you look at the history of the church in the Middle Ages, you had periods where you had very worldly and corrupt popes and bishops. People who were not spiritual, but were politicians. They were playing their own version of the game of thrones, and they were in bed with the kings and the lords. But you also had periods of religious revival or reform—the greatest of them being the Protestant Reformation, which led to the splitting of the church—where there were two or three rival popes each denouncing the other as legitimate. That’s what you’re seeing here in Westeros. The two previous High Septons we’ve seen, the first was very corrupt in his own way, and he was torn apart by the mob during the food riots [in season 2]. The one Tyrion appoints in his stead is less corrupt but is ineffectual and doesn’t make any waves. Cersei distrusts him because Tyrion appointed him. So now she has to deal with a militant and aggressive Protestant Reformation, if you will, that’s determined to resurrect a faith that was destroyed centuries ago by the Targaryens.”

I liked the episode, and have no complaints at all with this season. Even the Sand Snake coup was alright; at least things are advancing and it's not like Walking Dead season2 at the farm type stagnation

actually I get kind of excited every time something new happens, when the Bolton stuff happened I actually laughed out loud and said "holy shit"

Too bad this wasn't Olly that alone would have made it the GOAT episode:

lol for real I was kind of hoping the wildling guy would've stabbed him through the gut when he rushed at him like an idiot; he just brushed him aside. Was like "damn they really missed out there, should've gut the little fuck"

Caught me off guard I figured he'd try to kill his new brother (again, presumably) but then I was like, what comes around goes around:

Ramsey makes Joffery seem like a nice lad.

IIt seems pretty out of character for Roose to get eliminated like that honestly now that i think about it more. It's pretty obvious that Roose was always 2-3 steps ahead of Ramsay and would've known for sure that a son meant Ramsay was either going to try to kill the boy or kill him too. I thought it was so surprising that he killed his dad not because it's shocking ; it's really not. But because it was out of character for Roose to underestimate his son and let his guard down. Curious to see how it plays out in the books, i really doubt it was like that though. I'm thinking more like news of the son spreads around the castle and Ramsay leads an attack on his father when he and his wife and son are most vulnerable, as the baby is fresh born.

Maybe next week it'll be revealed that Roose was actually about to lead Ramsay to his own ambush too, but the men get better perks under Ramsay so they spilled the beans to him
