Yeah I agree you gotta adapt. Some guys were great with that style though like Winky Wright.

Agnew I thought was game though early, first round he was pushing Kovalev back a few times. Everything changed when he got caught and knocked down the first time. Kinda like Stevenson when he got caught against GGG.

His back was against the ropes in less than one minute in. The guy was clearly asking to get his brains bashed in but you gotta adapt.

And I agree with you on Winky. Another example of a good high guard, in the early part of his career, was Tyson.

He was backed up but you saw Agnew throw with some serious bad intentions first round and second.

He's inexperienced too. I've never seen him fight before but looking at his resume local Chicago guy who's made and won the proper step up fights like against Yusif Mack, guys like that but never on this stage. Hopefully he learns from it.
